Jyoti Prasad Saikia started his career as a journalist
in Tripura writing on Bangladesh events in 1970-72. Later, he
joined the Government of Assam, and held numerous senior
and vital positions; he retired from the Indian Administrative
Service (IAS)in December, 2005. He was also in the high
level Assam Administrative Reforms Commission. He is credited
with many popular titles including "__", a coinage that has
caught on, stage and radio plays, films/documentaries for the
small screen, creative writings in Assamese, Bengali, English. At
present, he is writing regular columns and working on proposed
serious titles on Northeast India.

If you go to Manipur there is one sweet dessert you must taste and
that is X Y Z.X means rice and Y is derived from ahaoba which
means delicious. It is usually made with black rice as the main
ingredient cooked with water and flavored with ghee, cashew
nuts, sugar and cardamom. Z is the generic name of the dish(like
halwa, pulao etc) It's also called XY Z(no space between X&Y) XY
though not a Hindi word but in Hindi it means to offer to taste. Id

Known as Sikkimese snipper, X won a famous dance show in
2009.Winning a dance show has bought fame to many but in his
case it was believed that he was neglecting his duty towards the
organization, Mohun Bagan, he was associated with. He was
awarded with Padma Shri in 2008 and still remains the most
popular face of India in a certain sport.

Shungester Lake in Arunachal Pradesh was the perfect
location for Bollywood Movie Koyla , directed by Rakesh
Roshan. It is the first bollywood movie shot in this
pristine location. However, after this film shooting in
1996, the lake lost its original name and came to be
known as X.

At the outset of the 1959 Tibetan uprising, fearing for his life, the
Dalai Lama and his retinue fled Tibet with the help of the
CIA's Special Activities Division, crossing into India on 30 March
