Hands-on demonstration of the OR set up for cytoreductive
surgery and technical aspects of HIPEC administration
Registered participants will have the opportunity to participate
in a hands-on lab in our state of the art simulation facility. The
lab will provide instruction and practice on appropriate patient
preparation and operating room set up for cytoreductive surgery;
set up, administration and take down of heated intraperitoneal
chemotherapy along with appropriate patient monitoring during
HIPEC. We will also address important patient and OR personnel
safety aspects of HIPEC administration and allow participants
many opportunities for direct interaction with faculty.
This lab is primarily of interest to surgeons and their teams who
are just starting a HIPEC program. Nurses, perfusionists and OR
staff are the target audience for this sim lab offering.
