- 2. So what’s the need?
- 4. • Launched by service users in 2011 on world mental health day • Steering group chaired and attended by young people • Provides information about CAMHS, mental health for families and young people across a range of ages • Provides advice to professionals. • Provides resources with simple self help strategies
- 5. • Graphics created from combinations of graphics and words • Capture key ideas, stimulating discussion, participation and focus. • Enabling everyone to participate in the building of a co-created vision • Young people continuing to have leading role in its development .
- 6. • My Mind now includes Twitter, Facebook and YouTube • Videos following ‘Max’s’ Journey through CAMHS voiced by Young people. • Max Mindfulness' video has been viewed over 169K times
- 7. A goal based outcome resource. Developed by young people for young people.
- 8. Where has Next Step come from? • Launched world mental health day 2012 • Co-developed between Clinical Staff and Young people • Next Step was created by young people through graphic facilitation • To support Goal based outcomes
- 9. How does it help young people? • Reduces anxiety around difficult conversations • Patient Centred • Holistic view of young persons life • Empowering • Set their own goals • Improves the effectiveness of conversations • Use in universal services for children
- 11. How has it been developed since? • Online Software has been created • New branding has been developed from designs from young people • Website developed • Support from Wirral, West Cheshire and Vale Royal CCGs • Sold through Nevexia

Slide 1.2 What to Expect • Fun and interactive group based intervention • Identifying the ‘team-mates’ who make up the key support people in children and young people’s lives • Downloadable resources to enable delivery of interventions • Uses Narrative therapy interventions developed by David Denborough

- 20. The Future • Innovative IT systems and equipment to be installed: • Ancora App • Giant touch screens in wards to share photos and video, • Ability to play therapeutic games and produce digital art.

- i.e. Clinicians thought of including a ‘body’ card however Young people didn’t like this idea and preferred a ‘me’ card. Also there was a grow card which young people didn’t understand and was often left out was replaced by a Feeling card.
