2. What is adverb?
Adverb is a word that is used to change or modify
of an adjective, a verb, a clause, or any type of word
and phrase.
Examples :
a) John speaks loudly
b) I am extremely happy
3. Types of Adverbs
1. Adverbs of manner
An adverbs that explain how something has done
or happens. Most of adverb of manner end in –ly such
as badly, happily, slowly, quickly, sadly and others that
include well, hard, fast, etc.
Examples :
a) The boy run quickly.
b) They worked fast.
4. 2. Adverbs of place
Adverbs of place explain where something has
done or happens. Adverbs of place include there,
here, inside, outside, everywhere, somewhere, etc.
Examples :
a) They are playing outside.
b) The children went there.
5. 3. Adverbs of time
Adverbs of time explain when the activity or
something has done or happens. We can use it at
the beginning or at the end of a sentence. Adverbs
of time include yesterday, today, tomorrow, later,
now, next, soon, etc.
Examples :
a) I will see you tomorrow.
b) Yesterday, my mother bought me a new bag.
6. 4. Adverbs of Frequency
Adverbs of frequency explain how often something
has done or happens. Adverbs of frequency include
always, usually, often, sometimes, seldom, never, once,
twice, ever, rarely, etc.
Examples :
a) Nia always comes on time.
b) We usually play games at home.
7. 5. Adverbs of Degree
Adverbs of degree explain the level or extent that
something has done or happens. Adverbs of degree
include almost, much, very, really, so, too, just, quite,
extremely, only, etc.
Examples :
a) It is very good.
b) They are too greedy.
