Preparing the final draft, executive, rendering for envi-
ronmental integration
Executive Definitive planning of the “urgent works on the verti-
cal connections (ex DGR 49-8994 del 16/06/2008)”
•	 First floor: hall building to visit the department of neuro-
logy;
•	 Second floor: living room of a building for the gynecology
ward;
•	 Third floor: neonatal unit, with a waiting room, office, exa-
mination rooms, medical offices, preparing meals and fee-
ding room, dirt deposits, clean equipment, nurse, nursery
infectious filter, nest and nest physiological premature;

The renovation has been carefully chosen to 3° floor adjacent
to the hospital area to encourage mothers to them next to their
babies, because currently the nest area was located on the first
floor near the Department of obstetrics. The area at present is
partly used with partitions formed in some cases by walls but
also by prefabricated partitions and glass for easy removal.
A special feature of the environment after the demolitions, will
be to enjoy natural lighting from 3 large Windows placed on the
main façade which have the particularity to have the sill at an
altitude at about 1.80 metres off the ground.
Due to this peculiarity, it was thought a project where totally
separate environments with full-height masonry, are just the
filter and the toilets and deposits, while the remaining masonry
has a height of 2.40 m to form a sort of open-space in the form
of some walls and the ceiling contribute to functionally separate
but constructed environments as unique as you work, you stop
and colloquia.
Unitary element to connect the rooms separated by partitions
of medium height, is a countertop particularly conformed
almost to remember with its rounded shapes the breast bed
from which babies have just emerged, in which are placed the
structures and systems needed to provide indirect lighting and
air-conditioning in all environments.
The shape of the countertop, as well as warm colors of
coatings, and the soft shape of the control area, should
contribute, together with the natural light from high Windows,
however widespread, to generate a feeling of natural wellness
practitioners, mothers and infants are housed in these
environments.
The soft and cozy interior spaces sequence to the area of the
nest can be shared by mothers or by visitors walking in the
hallway, through a window, a newly designed designed to
surprise but also to involve visitors more intimate activities
outside of the nest.
The window in question has created a system that provides for
the presence of a glass REI for the appropriate fire partitioning
coupled to another glass polarized which becomes translucent
or opaque. This window is characterised by perforated screens
with circular shapes of different sizes, dimensions and different
positions, allows particular viewpoints.

The renovation interest an area at 4° floor, not far from
operating theatre.
The project goal is to create a NICU with high standards for
children, parents and medical staff, creating 3 areas of growing
care level from low to high.
A NICU of 3° level must envision yourself and the presence of
machinery capable of monitor brain function, cardiovascular,
respiratory and Diagnostics with MRI and CT scans, and able to
provide assistance for children born after 28 weeks of gestation
even with weight less than 1000 g, requiring advanced
respiratory support as the High Frequency Ventilation,
performing basic surgery and the ability to provide support
through-body circulation, with options to ensure surgical
repair of congenital heart defects. These characteristics and
equipment can be guaranteed only through the use of living
environments and care, kinematic and appropriately sized
service spaces and whose general criteria that have addressed
the design process are set out below. First you plan to keep an
average of 11 sqm free space for the crib by excluding from

impediment or cinematic space.

appropriate filters and control, they can reach the right wing
of the Department with a linear path to increasing intensity
of care and guarantees through the use of specific degrees
of asepsis more intense, more complex Interventional areas.
Why in the first part of the course of treatment and care are
located 9 places for neonatal pathology simpler and the single
family room intended for the treatment of infants with special
diseases followed directly by family members. The single family
room is the clarification of the concept of benefits that may be
made to the newborn pathological family assistance through
direct. In such an environment the concepts of privacy, bonding
time and kangaroo care, find their real use and encourage
maximum response neuro behavioral newborn. To follow,
are in addition to the innermost floor services premises, 3
treatment rooms subintensivo, advanced ICU and placed in
isolation. Sizing up every single environment has been verified
by the three-dimensional drawing with appropriate measures
of nearly all the furnishings necessary for the functionality of
the Department, ensuring control of volumetric correct sizing

Igor Albera The renovation has been carefully chosen to 3° floor adjacent to the hospital area to encourage mothers to them next to their babies, because currently the nest area was located on the first floor near the Department of obstetrics. The area at present is partly used with partitions formed in some cases by walls but also by prefabricated partitions and glass for easy removal. A special feature of the environment after the demolitions, will be to enjoy natural lighting from 3 large Windows placed on the main façade which have the particularity to have the sill at an altitude at about 1.80 metres off the ground. Due to this peculiarity, it was thought a project where totally separate environments with full-height masonry, are just the filter and the toilets and deposits, while the remaining masonry has a height of 2.40 m to form a sort of open-space in the form of some walls and the ceiling contribute to functionally separate but constructed environments as unique as you work, you stop and colloquia. Unitary element to connect the rooms separated by partitions of medium height, is a countertop particularly conformed almost to remember with its rounded shapes the breast bed from which babies have just emerged, in which are placed the structures and systems needed to provide indirect lighting and air-conditioning in all environments. The shape of the countertop, as well as warm colors of coatings, and the soft shape of the control area, should contribute, together with the natural light from high Windows, however widespread, to generate a feeling of natural wellness practitioners, mothers and infants are housed in these environments. The soft and cozy interior spaces sequence to the area of the nest can be shared by mothers or by visitors walking in the hallway, through a window, a newly designed designed to surprise but also to involve visitors more intimate activities outside of the nest. The window in question has created a system that provides for the presence of a glass REI for the appropriate fire partitioning coupled to another glass polarized which becomes translucent or opaque. The project goal is to create a NICU with high standards for children, parents and medical staff, creating 3 areas of growing care level from low to high. A NICU of 3° level must envision yourself and the presence of machinery capable of monitor brain function, cardiovascular, respiratory and Diagnostics with MRI and CT scans, and able to provide assistance for children born after 28 weeks of gestation even with weight less than 1000 g, requiring advanced respiratory support as the High Frequency Ventilation, performing basic surgery and the ability to provide support through-body circulation, with options to ensure surgical repair of congenital heart defects.
