SALIGIA-7 is a transmedia sci-fi thriller that bridges broadcast, online, social and console games, live ‘alternate reality game’ events, mobile, print and theatrical.

Zombies are sighted on the streets of major cities. These zombies RUN! Governments and police initiate a campaign of denial and disinformation, while deploying SWAT squads to carry out clean-up operations. Citizens organise and push for action. They start to track the zombies down, intent on finding out what is going on. Managing to expose government cover-up tactics, they stumble on more questions than answers about who or what is behind the outbreak.

A transmedia pilot which ran for three weeks during August-September in the Netherlands included live events, online video, weblogs, Facebook, twitter and broadcast television. The pilot attracted more than 55,000 online views and an active participative audience of 1,800 18-25 year-olds, and reached more than 750,000 broadcast viewers when its live events and social media campaign caught the attention of the Dutch national news. D E V E L O P M E N T During 2012 Hubbub Media will continue to develop media elements of SALIGIA-7, working with partners to produce graphic novels, apps, video games, and in cooperation with national broadcast partners, a transmedia series with television at its core, telling the story of a zombie outbreak in major European cities.
