This course takes a detailed look at the
relationships transport has with our environment
and equips you with the knowledge and practical
skills of a modern, environmentally conscious
transport planner.
After understanding the core principles of
transport planning and environmental issues,
students consider how effective interventions and
mitigation policies can be designed and
implemented. The course not only covers theory
but also includes hands on experience collecting
and analysing transport, vehicle emission and air
pollution data.
Learn about ‘big’ transport data and analytical
skills to translate your passion for improving the
air quality of our cities and the wellbeing of your
fellow citizens into a reality.

for Transport

Designed in collaboration with employers to
provide the technical experts needed by a
growing sector.
Understand how mathematical models are
formulated and used in different contexts of
transport analyses, and identify their
strengths and weaknesses.
Develop key skills in modelling, analysis,
optimisation, simulation and visualisation.

35. Entry Requirements and How to Apply
Entry Requirements:
• a 2(i) Bachelor degree from a recognised UK university or an alternative
qualification of equivalent / higher standard
(lower degrees may be accepted in combination with relevant practical experience)
• English Language is also required if not your first language (IELTS 6.5 with no skill
below 6.0 is the most commonly accepted qualification)
• We accept a wide range of academic backgrounds, most commonly; civil
engineering, Geography and Economics but also Mathematics, Physics,
Psychology, Sociology, Planning, Architecture, Environment etc…
