ICF Colorado Newsletter
March 2015
Message from Dinah Snow
President, ICF Colorado
With all of the snow we had in February, it's
hard to believe the renewal of spring is just
around the corner.
Renewal this spring also means that it's
time to revisit your status with ICF Colorado
and ICF Global. Many memberships are
coming up, and we hope that you will
continue to support us in the year(s) to
come.
Professional coaching has grown rapidly
over the last several years, creating new
opportunities as well as a more competitive
marketplace. In the 2012 ICF Global
Coaching Study, coaches said their No. 1 obstacle was "untrained
individuals who call themselves coaches." Coaches need credibility
to set themselves apart and a community to help them thrive.
ICF CO and ICF Global are two separate memberships with two
separate membership fees with terrific benefits. It's important to
become a member of both. ICF Professional Members both Global
and Local get instant credibility by using the ICF brand and by
becoming part of the largest community of professionally trained
coaches.

BUILDING YOUR COACHING BUSINESS SIG
March 19, 2015
6:00PM - 6:50PM
Facilitated by: Nancy Chen
Topic: Differentiating Your Coaching Business
We will continue to work on our Business Plans as we begin to focus
on how to define and differentiate your business in the marketplace.
1. Do doubtful thoughts come to mind as you read your Vision
statement? If so, see that this is your story, but is it really true?
Work through the 4 Questions and Turnaround from Byron Katie:
http://www.thework.com/downloads/worksheets
/facilitationguide_Eng.pdf
2. Rolestorm, as Rick Griggs showed us at the last meeting: "How
would (your favorite hero/ine) respond if this was their Vision?"
Take notes.
3. Read Pages 1-39 of Guerrilla Marketing for Coaches by Levinson
and Neitlich. Develop 3 to 5 well-crafted and most important
questions that this material brings up for your coaching business.
With an open mind and full heart, tap into your responses and write
them down.
4. Take on the role of your prospect looking for a coach. Fully
research the options available to you in the marketplace; draw up
the pros and cons of each. With this in mind: "What sets your
company apart from the competition for your prospect in a
compelling way?" Consider factors such as: WHAT needed results or
outcomes you can bring about in partnership with your client; WHO
you are being and WHAT you are bringing as a coach; HOW you
work with your client to help them meet their goals; and Your X
Factor: how does the Magic happen?
Nancy has an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School, 10 years
in sales and marketing management, and 20 years as an
independent consultant and coach.
Mission – To ensure that new coaches build their business, improve
their coaching skills, market effectively and stay active and engaged
in ICF CO. The SIG will help new coaches chart a course toward
professional and financial success.

"LAUNCH YOU NOW TO WOW RESULTS"
Date: March 20, 2015
Time: 9:00 - 5:00pm (There is a morning and afternoon session)
Location: Holiday Inn Cherry Creek, 455 South Colorado Blvd
More Information and Registration Coming Soon!
It doesn't matter where you are now - even if you're just starting out - you have the ability to
accelerate your path of success as a coach, at quantum levels, IF you know how to harness the
power of 4 ESSENTIAL Elements within your marketing.
You also skyrocket your results when you know how to WOW your audiences, clients and videos
with that indefinable, magnetic, compelling presence and impact.
“THE POWER TO WOW” 9:00AM - 12:30PM (with breaks)
The first half of the day is dedicated to connecting everyone to each other, presencing the
greatness of everyone in the room. You're taken through a series of "connection" processes that
have you experience your presence and your connection to an audience and your message and the
camera like you've never felt or experienced before.
Then one or two folks will be given Hot Seat Coaching to take this connection process even further
and "jump into the sandbox" where we play with the many ways you can present what you want to
say and what you're about.
“LAUNCH YOU NOW!” 1:30PM - 5:00PM (with breaks)
We dive DEEP into exactly what YOU need to do to get launched through the stratosphere with
your coaching business (and how to monetize it every step of the way).
Lynn will take you in depth, step by step through each of the 4 elements, with Before and Afters,
Action steps, Interactive Coaching, Q-&-A's, and even share with you what you need in your Media
Kit so you become a magnet for interviews and media (and how easy it is to get one made and why
it's SO important you do!)
More Information and Registration Coming Soon!

Membership in the ICF Colorado: New Member Sponsors Needed
As the Membership Director, it is my hope that new members are welcomed into our Chapter and
quickly find a home in our "family." To ensure this happening well, we are starting an experiment
called New Member Sponsors. A new member sponsor is someone who has been in the Chapter for
perhaps a year or more who will help welcome a new member and make sure they become
integrated into the life of the Chapter. For the first few months, the sponsor will befriend the new
member, become acquainted, introduce him or her to others in the Chapter, explain the various
benefits and programs of the Chapter, and perhaps have coffee or lunch with the person.
If you have been a member of our Chapter for a year or more, please consider becoming a New
Member Sponsor. It is a four-month commitment to make friends with someone and ensure that
they become actively involved in the Chapter. You will be provided with some orientation and
suggestions on how to best sponsor someone. Please contact Walt Hastings to express your
interest in welcoming new members. Call Walt at 303-526-9490 or e-mail him at
walthastings@hotmail.com.
Why Join ICF Colorado?
* A community of individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of their clients.
* Connect with other coaches.
* Become engaged in the work of learning together and creating a strong community.
* Receive valuable training each month that you can directly apply to your life or work with clients.

ICF Colorado Newsletter: March 2015

  • 1. ICF Colorado Newsletter March 2015 Message from Dinah Snow President, ICF Colorado With all of the snow we had in February, it's hard to believe the renewal of spring is just around the corner. Renewal this spring also means that it's time to revisit your status with ICF Colorado and ICF Global. Many memberships are coming up, and we hope that you will continue to support us in the year(s) to come. Professional coaching has grown rapidly over the last several years, creating new opportunities as well as a more competitive marketplace. In the 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study, coaches said their No. 1 obstacle was "untrained individuals who call themselves coaches." Coaches need credibility to set themselves apart and a community to help them thrive. ICF CO and ICF Global are two separate memberships with two separate membership fees with terrific benefits. It's important to become a member of both. ICF Professional Members both Global and Local get instant credibility by using the ICF brand and by becoming part of the largest community of professionally trained coaches. • 7. Membership in the ICF Colorado: New Member Sponsors Needed As the Membership Director, it is my hope that new members are welcomed into our Chapter and quickly find a home in our "family." To ensure this happening well, we are starting an experiment called New Member Sponsors. A new member sponsor is someone who has been in the Chapter for perhaps a year or more who will help welcome a new member and make sure they become integrated into the life of the Chapter. For the first few months, the sponsor will befriend the new member, become acquainted, introduce him or her to others in the Chapter, explain the various benefits and programs of the Chapter, and perhaps have coffee or lunch with the person. If you have been a member of our Chapter for a year or more, please consider becoming a New Member Sponsor. It is a four-month commitment to make friends with someone and ensure that they become actively involved in the Chapter. You will be provided with some orientation and suggestions on how to best sponsor someone. Please contact Walt Hastings to express your interest in welcoming new members. Call Walt at 303-526-9490 or e-mail him at walthastings@hotmail.com. Why Join ICF Colorado? * A community of individuals committed to making a difference in the lives of their clients. * Connect with other coaches. * Become engaged in the work of learning together and creating a strong community. * Receive valuable training each month that you can directly apply to your life or work with clients.
