4. Fhatani Consulting Fhatani Consulting Group is a firm of consulting engineers specializing in civil and structural engineering and project management. The group was recently formed by merger of three established consulting engineering firms namely Slabbert and Associates , B. T. Mongwe and Associates and BSM Baker . The principals of the aforementioned firms being Mike Slabbert, Timothy Mongwe, Brian McClintock and Geoff Baker are the directors of the new group trading under the legal entity of Fhatani Proprietary Limited. Each of the directors have a twenty percent shareholding in the new company - the remaining twenty percent has been allocated to Timothy Mongwe to be distributed to a yet to be identified black engineer. The strength of the new group lies in the combined experience of the directors each having in excess of twenty years of experience in civil and structural engineering consulting and in the diversified skills from the resources that can now be combined to suit a range of projects. Most recently the practice has won a competition initiated by the eThekwini Municipality for a Heroes Monument to be erected in the park at the intersection of Berea and Moore Roads. The practice was placed fourth in a national competition to design the National Assembly in Kimberley for the Northern Cape Province Provincial Government All the members have maintained links with the University of KwaZulu Natal and the Durban Institute of Technology and are involved on an on-going basis as part time lecturers, tutors and examiners. 26. Claire Paterson nee Goodenough Claire has a Masters Degree in Local Economic Development and has previously worked for the Zululand Chamber of Business. She is experienced in LED facilitation, training and project management, and is trained as a business retention and expansion facilitator, as well as being an SA Host Trainer. David Razlog Consultant:ICEBREAKER HOLDINGS David Mark Razlog comes from a financial back ground having spent 17 years on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He has the JSE trader’s exams, junior and senior financial market exams as well as the JSE compliance officer exams. He has also studied at the University of Natal towards his MBA and requires one more year to complete a MBA he has been awarded a MAP Dip from the University. David has been involved in the management of funds for both institutions and Government department for most of his life. David’s networking ability and contacts are at the highest level he is well known and respected in the world banking circles especially in Zurich were he has raised funds for a number of projects in Africa and Middle East. He has represented both his employees and himself at the highest level of management and has been instrumental in obtaining funds for both management and investment purposes, giving presentations to senior staff members and investment advice regarding stock markets and projects. He has access to top level management at the Department Of Trade and Industry. He has been involved with Trade and Investment Kwa-Zulu Natal regarding Dube Trade Port regarding the new air port to be erected.
