What can we do to limit or stop filter bubbles? • Use ad-blocking browser extensions. • Read news sites and blogs that provide a wide range of perspectives. • "Subscribe" to more than one news source. • Understand where your news sources show up on media bias charts. • Find balance with "centered" journalism. • Use incognito browsing, delete search history and stay logged out if possible. • Delete or block browser cookies. • Educate yourself about filter bubbles, internet tracking, and security. • Consider buying access to a VPN: Virtual Private Network. The algorithms that support us in finding relevant information quickly can also bring us closer to a gravitational black hole of information, which subsequently can lead us to make decisions about politics or politicians. This problem will not go away by itself.
