Educate the general public about some of the
wildlife of Houston
Provide a unique and exciting experience for
visitors, encouraging them to get involved with
Arboretum programs, join as a member, etc.

6. Information for Volunteers
Set up: Fri.: all day; Saturday: 8 – 10 a.m.
1st
Volunteer Shift: 9:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
2nd
Shift: 1 to 5 p.m.
Please allow time for parking, etc.
Clean-up/Tear down: 4:30 – 7 p.m.
Consider coming early/staying later to help
with set up or tear down.
7. Information for Volunteers
Volunteers should wear ArBOO t-shirt
(pick up at Volunteer check-in)
Please no masks/costumes. This is a non-
scary, family event. Facepaint or fun hat are
fine. Don’t wear perfume, other fragrances.
Bring only the basics with you for
volunteering. Few lockers are available in
workroom area.
Do not leave valuables in car.

Parking for Visitors is located in lots on south
side of Memorial Park east of Arboretum.
Admissions, member’s check-in will be located
near the front gate. Total of 2 buses running from
satellite parking in Memorial Park

Volunteer Check-In Station will be

HANC Gate on the right (West) side.
Sign in, pick up name tag, map, t-shirt,
any last minute instructions, grab snacks.
13. Refreshments for Volunteers
Please don’t take drinks, food from concessions.
(unless paying)
Food, drinks for volunteers will be located in
workroom inside building, and at Volunteer Check-In
at Front Entrance.
Relief Volunteers will also be walking throughout the
event to provide drinks, etc. as needed.
Restrooms are located inside building and outside back of
building.
