Our large, fully equipped in-house shotblasting facilities
allow us to handle bulk component blasting, using a range
of different abrasives with full extraction systems and a
recycling system for the abrasive. We can also shotblast equipment at

For the subsea sector we can provide a choice of specialist, long-lasting
protective coating, for all subsea equipment including Christmas trees,
guide bases, risers, pipelines, valves, structural steelwork and wellhead
equipment.
We also apply coatings to topside equipment including modules,
vessels, silos, valves, pipework, structural steelwork, frames and
walkways and can apply non-skid coatings to walkways and decks.

Offshore helidecks have to contend with sun, rain, gales
and corrosive chemicals as well as 4 ton helicopters landing
on the coating day after day.
In the past they have had to be repainted annually, with
a several day shut-down required, costing a vast sum of
money.
PPC553 lasts significantly longer than traditional paints,
giving you lifetime asset protection and eliminating the need
for expensive annual shut downs. What’s more, the speed
of drying is so fast that you can have your asset back in
production within minutes.
Helidecks are designed for flexibility, visibility and safety.
Multiple colors are required for company logos, rig
identification numbers and safety markings.
With PPC553, a wide range of colours can be used, and
because it dries in seconds, even in extreme temperatures,
additional colours can be added almost immediately.

4. TSA – Thermally Sprayed Aluminium
Protecting the asset for 25-30 years until first
maintenance, TSA completely protects your assets
for three to five times longer than standard paint –
that’s only one spell of downtime every 25 years instead
of three, four or five.

the worldwide experts for a skilled, safe and top quality
service.
Thermal spraying is a technology which protects and
greatly extends the life of a wide variety of products in
the most hostile environments and in situations where
coatings are vital for longevity.
The variety of metallised coatings include finishing
coatings, such as anti-corrosion or decorative coatings,
and engineering coatings such as wear resistant and
thermal barrier coatings.
Thermal spraying is carried out in a wide range of anti
corrosion and engineering markets, including oil and gas,
construction, petrochemical and marine.
How TSA is being used
On location at Bacton gas terminal in Norfolk, TSA was
applied to 2”, 4”, 6” and 8” pipework to protect against
erosion and corrosion.
GCG applied TSA to fractionation columns at Shell’s
Mossmorran plant to provide cathodic protection as well
as a barrier to corrosion. This was the first large scale
application of TSA to vessels in live process areas in Shell.

Fireproof Coatings
Fireproofing is absolutely vital for the oil
and gas industry, where hazardous
products create potentially dangerous
working conditions. Your fire protection has to be reliable
and durable while being safe and quick to apply.
GCG offers a complete range of passive fire protection
with a wide choice of fireproof coatings including
intumescent epoxies and cementacious coatings for all
classes of hydrocarbon fire, Aviation Jet Fire and general
Commercial fire protection. We are licensed approved
applicators for the Full Chartek 7 & 8 Range, Pitt-Char XP
Range and Leighs M90 Range.
Our experienced applicators work efficiently to minimise
downtime, giving you guaranteed and long-lasting
fireproofing for even the most flammable risks areas.
Paint Spraying
With paint spraying facilities of over
40,000 square feet, we can apply special
coatings such as Glass flake, Non-slip
and Anti-fouling.
