The portfolio contains summaries of Henrik Eklund's projects including designs of a single lever for wheel loaders, an ergonomic clamp for medical tubes, compostable packaging, a cable management system, a conceptual Volvo chair, 3D models exploring mathematical properties in nature, and graphic design work. The projects were completed during his studies and with industry partners to deliver innovative and user-centered solutions.

The outcome from this Master of Science thesis work integrates four hand-
maneuvered functions in one lever, is adapted for wheel loader use and is
designed for instant implementation in current wheel loaders. The design is
registered.
The focus in this project was to deliver a single lever concept with
ergonomically optimized dimensions and functions. The thesis work was carried
out together with CPAC Systems AB and Volvo Construction Equipment.
Theoretical research and ergonomic analyses were synthesized into User
Needs and Design Heuristics for the development.

Ergoclamp is a novel and ergonomic clamp for plastic tubes used in blood
therapy. The design is an outcome from a project with objectives to enhance
ergonomic performance and usability for nurses. Manufacturing, mounting
and usage are covered by the registered conceptual design.
The project was initiated by Nordic Medcom, situated in Borås.
The clamp can be mounted
anywhere on the tube
Permanent snap fits secure the

This compostable packaging is made from fibre material and
possible to also recycle in cardboard recycling. It is the outcome
from a focus on Design for Environment. The design harmonize with
Cradle-to-Cradle philosophy and biomimetics.
Aspects like manufacturing, assembling, transport, usability and
perceptual product experience were taken into count in this
Bachelor thesis work. The aim was to innovate Primus packaging for
their branded, eco-friendly outdoor stoves.

The Spine is made up of several sliding segments that collects up
to 8 cables in office environments. Cables are easily inserted and
segments with cut-outs fixates cables that runs to or from the Spine.
The Spine can be attached to table-tops and table legs and is
flexible to handle adjustable tables.
This design project was initiated by Kinnarps Interior and the
objective was to develop a innovative approach on how to
handle cables.

This sketch, on a fictional Volvo chair from a Workshop with Lars Falk
(Chief Design, Volvo Cars), was part of the Advanced Form Design
course at Chalmers 2011. It explicitly uses design cues from various
volvo designs.
The hand drawn sketch was modified in Photoshop and was
intended to induce a safe, Scandinavian but still noble feeling.

A Cactus made in Pro/Engineer. What mathematical properties are hidden in
nature? Fractals, golden ratio and Fibonacci spirals were used for developing
this form of an imaginary cactus.
