14. selected results: Are there reasons against the
use?

• price
• not listening to yourself

• too little repertoire
• no replacement for teacher, pianist, ensemble
• requires a disciplined and more advanced student

15. selected results: Which functions would you still
wish for the app?
• audio sounds (plug-ins)
• multi-track recordings without playback
• mixing console (volume, key, tempo ...)
• score display with cursor
• exchange of recordings between the students
• editable scores, exchange of entries

26th EAS Conference | Jelgava/Riga - Latvia, 14-17 March, 2018 | F. Höfer & H. Herglotz
16. 5. outlook
• application in choir school and extracurricular
• application in school music lessons to support classroom music

• conducting guide interviews with students
• improvements to the app based on the results of qualitative research
26th EAS Conference | Jelgava/Riga - Latvia, 14-17 March, 2018 | F. Höfer & H. Herglotz
17. vision
• Use of etudo in ensembles. For example, Chorforum Wien, which
rehearses etudo for the choral festival in June.
• Merging the sofasession and etudo concepts: etudo not only as a
learning platform, but also as a platform to bring musicians with
similar abilities online for a learned repertoire.
• etudo as a transhipment point for sheet music: making proposals for
new works and songs based on the past and the repertoire learned.
Interesting also for music publishers.
