Management Information Systems Project - Retail

2.  Retail is the sale of goods to the public in
relatively small quantities for use or
consumption rather than for resale.

3. I chose the retail industry to find out about jobs
that involve technology because I currently
work in retail and I only ever deal with IT from a
technical standpoint and I wanted to know
more about the technology make up of not only
my company but also retail as a whole.

5.  In a time-sensitive environment, unbox and
hang large volumes of incoming samples on
a daily basis, and coordinate with the mail
room to track missing packages, accurately
log fit samples into Excel on a daily basis,
and coordinate all model fit schedules in a
24 hour time period.

6.  As Digital Website Merchandiser, you’ll
create, maintain and analyze our online
brand and category pages. You are
accountable in assisting the planning,
strategizing and setting up of creative
content on our website. You collaborate and
coordinate with the Marketing, Creative,
Content and Category manager team.

7.  The campaigns leverage numerous direct to
customer touch points and marketing
channels including inbound web/phone,
email, direct mail, credit card, package
inserts, search engine marketing, display,
gaming and social media.

8.  As the Investigator, Field Asset Protection
you will: Conduct and bring to resolution
internal and external investigations, partner
with asset protection analysts to identify
trends related to various types of fraud, and
think outside the box to identify sources of
fraud potential and help to design reporting
to spot in future.

9.  The Corporate Security Manager is
responsible for promoting the Loss
Prevention key objectives through ensuring
the safety, security, and protection of
company assets within the corporate
environment.

10.  The primary function of this position is
growing and managing our brands' online
social presence. Our current social networks
consist of over a million connections and
your task will be to nurture these
relationships with the end goal of driving our
friends and guests to our stores and online.

11.  This position demands a well-organized,
action oriented team player with exceptional
time management skills to support multiple
initiatives simultaneously and in a very fast
paced environment.

12.  I learned about many new jobs and the
different make ups jobs can have from a
technology standpoint. This exercise did help
me to look more in depth to jobs and what
skills they involve . I think this was a useful
project when it came to finding out about
different technology based jobs, but I found it
to be very time consuming and extensive.
