1. How did you use new media
technologies in the construction,
research and planning, evaluation
stages?

2. Canon DSLR and Nikon DSLR
Canon DSLR:
• One piece of equipment we used during the production
process of our music video was the Canon DSLR camera.
• We used this camera to film the music video from many
different angles , the camera’s manual and auto focus ability
meant that we could easily get the camera into to focus for
the best quality.
• The Camera was useful as it was easy to transport so we
could take the camera with us to many different locations
without any trouble
Nikon DSLR:
• The Nikon DSLR was another piece of equipment we used
to film during production of our music video
• The Nikon DSLR is also a high definition camera and so
having this was useful as it allowed us to film in high
definition from multiple different angles.
• Also, the use of two camera’s meant that we could film
from two angles at the same time which meant in the final
product we could get the same scene from two different
perspectives.

3. I Mac
• iMac is a family of all-in-one Macintosh desktop
computers designed and built by Apple Inc.
• The mac was arguably our most important tool in
the making of our music video.
• We used the mac to save all our work from final
cut pro and other software's
• In addition, all the software we used was
downloaded onto the mac, making it a key
component in our work

4. Mobile Phones
• Mobile Phones were useful to us during the
production of our product.
• This made it easy for us to get in contact with
each other when we needed to go out and film
• It also made it easy to contact Dan when we
needed him to come to school to film something

5. Google
• Google is a very popular search engine that was
very useful to us when doing the pre production
posts and post production
• We used Google to do research on multiple
music genre’s so we would have a better idea on
what kind of genre we wanted our song and
video to be
• Also, we used Google to research things such as
good settings and locations near us to film our
music video
• We also used Google to research digipacks and
what they looked to find what out what they
looked like and research digipacks in the same
genre of music as our’s so that we would have
some sort of idea on what our’s could look like
• We used Google to research what kind of
costume’s we would have people in our video
wearing

6. Final Cut Pro
• Final cut pro was very useful in post production
of out work.
• Final Cut pro is an editing software in which you
can edit clips and images together.
• Final cut pro allowed us to edit all the shots we
took together and decide what shots looked best
together and what shots needed to go
• We used final cut proto edit our music video
using their vast tools and software
• The different effects it allowed us to use allowed
us to enhance the quality of our video
• Also, the different transitions to other shots
allowed the video to look more natural and also
improved the quality of our final product.
• Also, the software allowed us to post our video
straight from the program to YouTube, fully
edited, which from YouTube we could transfer to
our blogs.

7. Blogger
• Blogger is a website that has been very useful to
us over the past two years
• Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows
multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries
• Blogger has been very useful to us as we have
used blogger to document all our research and
planning of our music video
• The fact that is time stamped means that all our
research and planning posts are easy to go back
to if we need too or edit if needs be.
• In addition, using blogger has been useful in
getting feedback for our video, as it is easy for
someone to view our blogs and give feedback on
our idea’s and final product

8. YouTube
• YouTube has been a great help in increasing the
quality of our music video.
• YouTube is a video sharing service in which
anyone can share video’s online.
• YouTube has been useful as it has allowed us to
research music video’s that fall under the same
genre as ours
• This meant that we were able to look at some of
the generic elements of a alternative rock music
video by looking at multiple different music
video’s
• This allowed us to implement some of these
elements in to our music video.
• In addition, we looked at things such as costume
so we could decide what costume we would want
our actor’s to be wearing in the music video.

9. Survey Monkey
• Survey Monkey is an online survey development
cloud-based software
• Using Survey Monkey allowed us to create a
survey and send it to people our age, who were
our target audience.
• The software stored the data of answer’s from
people that took the survey
• We used the results of the survey to determine
what kind of video are target audience wanted
• Also, we implemented elements requested in the
survey into our final product

10. Photo booth
• Photo Booth is a software application for taking
photos and videos with an iSight camera by Apple Inc.
• Photo Booth was a very big help to us during this
project.
• We used Photo Booth to film member’s of our class
and teacher’s watching our music video and give
feedback.
• Photo Booth was a software already on the mac
which meant it was easy to save and transfer to our
blog
• Filming the feedback meant that if we forgot what
people said to us we can go back and watch the video
so we could improve our product as much as possible

11. Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor
developed and published by Adobe Systems for
macOS and Windows.
• Photoshop can edit and compose raster images in
multiple layers and supports masks, alpha
compositing and several color models including
RGB, CMYK, CIELAB, spot color and duotone.
• Photoshop was useful to us as we used it to
create our company logo which would feature on
both our digipack and magazine advert.
• In addition we used Photoshop to create many
different idea’s for the digipack so we could put in
aspects of each to put in our final digipack.
• We also used Photoshop to create our magazine
which featured synergistic elements from our
digipack and our music video to show the link
between the three
