Whengoingout to record,the kitthat I usedwas a camera (canon
600d), a tripodandfilmingroom.The camerawas efficientatits
jobbecause ithad everythingyouwouldneedtocreate high
qualityimagesbecause youcouldoptimizethe qualityto1080
and increase the fpswhenrecordingupto50fps. The camera also
had the essential visual controlslike the alterationof brightness
viaISO on the camera sothat you can getthe bestbalance of
lightnessanddarknessinthe image forthe style of photography
youare goingfor,the focusringso that youcan sharpenyour
image andalso aperture,whichaffectsthe lensesexposure to
lightthusaffectingthe depthof fieldof the image onthe camera.
The room that me and my groupwere filminginwasveryfitting
for recordinginhence itwasquietsowe could recordclipswith
audioto implementintoourfilmsandthere weren'tany
distractionsnearthe locationof the roomso that made the
processof gettingthe clipsmuchmore persistent.
The main purpose of bookingthe camerawasso that everyone in
the group I wasin couldhave the opportunity,the time tolearn
and to experimentwithcannon600dso that theywouldhave a
betterunderstandingof usingthe cameraforthe future when
theymightuse itagain fromthe start of the course.Also,the
purpose of bookingaroom for recordingwasso thatthe group
couldhave enoughtime inanenvironment,of whichthe group
couldprosperinperusingthe rightamountand rightqualityof
clipsforimplementationof the film.

At the start of learninghow touse the camera,a genral inspection
was the firstthingthat I swiftlylearntbecause itwasn’ttoohard
to learnand itwas obviouslyaveryimportantthingtolearn,since
if you don’tknow how to turn ona camera,youwouldbe able to
use it.
Alsoputtingthe SD card and batteryintothe camera wasn’ttoo
hard of a taskmainlybecause onthe camera there are two
openingswhere youcaneasilysee thattheyare forthe SD card
and the battery;
Checkingtosee if the camera switchesonisalsoan easytask
since all youneedtowhentryingto turn onthe camerais to open
up the panel byflickingittothe side where youcan see the
screen/Fromthere youclickthe on bottomand youwill see the
frame of what the lensisviewing.

Afteryouturn off a camera youfirstpressdown the lenses
release bottomatthe frontof the camera,thentwistthe back
endof the lensleftwardswhenviewingthe camerastraighton,
lookingatthe lens,until youfell the lenscome off.
To replace a lens,youmustfirstputlenscoverovernew lens to
preventitfromgettingdirtyor damagedwhenputtingitonthe
camera.Then whatyouwill needtodois to alignthe lenses
alignmentmarkwiththe camerabodyalignmentmarkandthe
pushthe lenscarefullyintothe camerabodysothat the lensis
able to twist.Once inthat position,youwillneedtotwistthe
camera lens90 degreestothe right whenlookingstraightonat
the camera lens,until youfeel andhearthe cameraclickinto
place.Afterclickingthe cameraintoplace,youcan proceedto
take photosand videoswiththe camera,asthe lensisin place.

You can decrease the aperture sothat the camera focusesonthe
foregroundandblursthe backgroundsothat you can gethyper
focusedshotof images,whichcanlookgoodin close-upshots.To
the contrary, if youincrease the aperture,youcanget so beautiful
longshotsof vastmountainrangesbecause increasingthe
aperture inthat positioncanmake the photolookbetterbecause
it wouldmake more mountainsvisible inthe image because the
fieldof view,of the image,would visualize the mountains well.

One side effectof havinghighISOisthatan image orvideocan be
overexposed,whichcan make the outcome of the frameslook
uglyand sometimes,evenif youopenthe filesupinphotoshop,
the raw image can be so overexposedthatyoucan't edititto a
suitable amount,soitisimportantthat yoube careful withhow
youmanage your ISO.
Anotherside effectfromhighISOisthat itincreasesgainwhich
can make imagesincertainlightingtolooktoograinyand ugly
because itgetsinthe wayof the focal pointof the imagery.

rule on settingshutterspeed
The main rule iswhenyoudon’twantmotionbluryoushouldput
your cameraon fastshutterspeedsothat mitigatesthe blurof
motioninyourimagesand whenshootingwithaslow shutter,
youcan doa freeze frame shotwhere the image issharpor this
couldalsobe a usedas a tool to motionblursome thingsinthe
image.

Firstly,youwill needtounclipthe tripodlegssothatthe legscan
extenttoa suitable heightforframingforthe camerashot.After
that youwill needtountwistthe gripsothat youcan level the
surface on the top of the platformout.Thenyou wouldneedto
flickoutthe quickrelease plate sothatyou can screw it ontothe
bottomof the camera sothat you can slipitback onto the tripod
for steadyframing.Andif youwantmovementinthe shotyoucan
twistthe gripslightlysoyoucan smoothlymove the fromaround.

Overall withinrecordthe groupandI usedquite standardsetting
for the mostpart because itwas our firsttimesusingcannon
camera so we didn’twanttobe tooriskyand lose time torecord
footage bytryingto figure outwhatsettingwe shouldchange.
However,aswe progressed,the groupgotmore and more used
to the cannon’ssettingandso we all decidedthatwe wouldshoot
a 50fps slow motionshotof the waterfountaindrippingthatwe
woulduse inour horror filmstobuilduptension.Atthe veryend
of the shootof footage,I decidedthatIwoulddotwo zoomshots
of differentcolouredwallswiththe camerasothat I couldadd a
zoomtransitioninmyfilmbecause Iwantedtosee if I could
experimentandpushmyself whenfilmingsothatI couldlearn
newtechniquesandstylesof filmsothatI couldenhance mylevel
of filmingsothatIcould progressmore sustainably.
