Why are they my Key Influenceand How will they
Help my Project?
• I chose Don LaFontaine because I used to watch manyof the trailers that he narrated or was a part of when I was
younger and had no clue that it was him that narrated them until I started doing research on trailers, and I even
enjoyed some of the jokes and parodies about this cliché that was created by him despite it even being a cliché.
• I also chose him because I want to use a similar style to his narration for myfinal project, using the over the top
phrases like "in a world" as the trailer plays for the audience but not so often that it becomes distracting and not
used to make fun of it
• I have chosen Takeshi Obata because his creations and stories has helped other creators write amazing stories
using his work as inspiration
• However I do not want to take too much of inspiration from Takeshi Obata because I do not want to look like I am
copying him
• I have chosen James Cameron as one of my key influences because I have alwaysenjoyed most of his movies
when I was younger because of their complex and relatable characters, bright and vastopen worlds and creative
stories like with the Terminator films
• I chose Robert Rodriguez as one of my key influences because of his style of creating movies by doing most of the
work himself in order to save money and I want to do something similar by having a very small team of actors but
do most of the work myself
• I also chose him because despite having a very small budget for mostof his movies, he was able to use that to his
advantageby using the cheapness as part of the effect like he had done with Sin City and I hope to do something
similar by using the small budget that I have (little to none) but use that to my advantageby doing mostof the
work myself and use the cheapness as part of the effect.
• However, I do not want to use his creating style too much as I feel that doing something like that would cause me
to get stressed out too much
• I chose George Lucas as one of my key influences because he has created many unique science fiction worlds with
multiple different and relatable characters, and I hope to do something similar
• I also chose Lucas because while he has made mistakes before with different franchises like Star Wars, he always
had a good plan for his projects and did whatever he could to fix that mistake and I find that inspiring as it helps
me understand that professionals can easily make mistakes, but they can just as easily fix them
• However while he has done some good, I don't want completely use his mistakes as my influence because I wish
to be able to make the right choice when creating my trailer or at least be able to fix any mistake that might occur
during the production of the video

  • 56. Why are they my Key Influenceand How will they Help my Project? • I chose Don LaFontaine because I used to watch manyof the trailers that he narrated or was a part of when I was younger and had no clue that it was him that narrated them until I started doing research on trailers, and I even enjoyed some of the jokes and parodies about this cliché that was created by him despite it even being a cliché. • I also chose him because I want to use a similar style to his narration for myfinal project, using the over the top phrases like "in a world" as the trailer plays for the audience but not so often that it becomes distracting and not used to make fun of it • I have chosen Takeshi Obata because his creations and stories has helped other creators write amazing stories using his work as inspiration • However I do not want to take too much of inspiration from Takeshi Obata because I do not want to look like I am copying him • I have chosen James Cameron as one of my key influences because I have alwaysenjoyed most of his movies when I was younger because of their complex and relatable characters, bright and vastopen worlds and creative stories like with the Terminator films
  • 57. • I chose Robert Rodriguez as one of my key influences because of his style of creating movies by doing most of the work himself in order to save money and I want to do something similar by having a very small team of actors but do most of the work myself • I also chose him because despite having a very small budget for mostof his movies, he was able to use that to his advantageby using the cheapness as part of the effect like he had done with Sin City and I hope to do something similar by using the small budget that I have (little to none) but use that to my advantageby doing mostof the work myself and use the cheapness as part of the effect. • However, I do not want to use his creating style too much as I feel that doing something like that would cause me to get stressed out too much • I chose George Lucas as one of my key influences because he has created many unique science fiction worlds with multiple different and relatable characters, and I hope to do something similar • I also chose Lucas because while he has made mistakes before with different franchises like Star Wars, he always had a good plan for his projects and did whatever he could to fix that mistake and I find that inspiring as it helps me understand that professionals can easily make mistakes, but they can just as easily fix them • However while he has done some good, I don't want completely use his mistakes as my influence because I wish to be able to make the right choice when creating my trailer or at least be able to fix any mistake that might occur during the production of the video
