Course Of Reforms- CHINA
Economic reforms began after Deng Xiaoping and
his reformist allies ousted the Gang of Four Maoist
faction. Reforms has 4 phases.
• 1978-84 :- Deng’s first reforms began in agriculture,
a sector long neglected by the communist party.
• 1984-93 :- China’s govt slowly expanded recognition
of the private economy first as a “complement” to the
state sector (1988).
• 1993-2005 :- In the 1990s, Deng forced many of the
conservative elders such as Chen Yun into retirement,
allowing radical reforms to be carried out.
• The domestic private sector first exceeded 50% of
GDP in 2005 and has further expanded since. Also
in 2005, China was able to surpass Japan as the
largest economy in Asia.
• 2005–present :- The conservative Hu-Wen
Administration began to reverse some of Deng
Xiaoping's reforms in 2005. Observers note that the
government adopted more egalitarian and populist
policies.

Central bank of china
• The People's Bank of China is the central bank of
the People's Republic of China with the power to
control monetary policy and regulate financial
institutions in mainland China.
• The bank was established on December 1, 1948,
based on the consolidation of the Huabei Bank, the
Beihai Bank and the Xibei Farmer Bank. The
headquarters was first located
in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, and then moved to Beijing

Fiscal policy- china
• china has implemented prudent fiscal policy in 2014.
• The main purpose of prudent fiscal policy is to control the
deficit, adjust structure, promote reform, increase
revenue and reduce expenditures.
• The defence budget will be allocated 480.686
billion yuan.
• The allocation of 220.833 billion yuan will be made
for providing improved subsistence allowances to
urban and rural families.
• The implementation of policy for the subsidization
of domestic appliances and vehicles for rura
residents will be allocated 103.341 billion yuan.
China- Business Etiquette
• Cultural Facts:
 Very exact rules about human relationship.
Correct names, correct placement and correct
etiquettes paramount to Chinese.
Naming culture.
Hand things with two hands.
The written word is the highest art form.
Very aware of other cultures and on foreign trips
represent their country.
Avoid political comment.
Business Dress
Men: Jackets for meetings and dinners
Women: Business suits, blouses with high neckline,
low heels to avoid being taller than the host.
White is used in funerals so wear other colors in
important occasions
Avoid too much of perfume.
Other Facts
 The Chinese prefer hand gestures to be kept to a minimum, Personal
contact like hugging should be avoided , Shaking hands is
acceptable, Colleagues are addressed with title and last name only,
Direct eye contact is avoided.
 In most restaurants in Chinese countries, there is no tip required
unless it is explicitly posted. Series of meetings, rather than just one
Meetings are about building relationships and exchanging
information, Decisions are made in consensus style discussions This
approach to meetings requires patience.
 The Chinese do not directly say “no”.
 People are expected to enter the meeting room in hierarchical order
Chinese assume that the person entering the meeting room first is
the head of the delegation.
