Focusing on your needs we develop papers that are customised to meet
your requirements. The selection of raw material is the first step in the
paper manufacturing process, whether it is cellulose pulp, linters or
glass fibre. The finishing of the raw material and the adjustment of the
production process brings out a unique paper recipe, which creates a
distinctive paper.
Our experience in the development of filter papers for more than 100
years and our flexibility in producing smaller lots of one grade than
are usually available, are two of the main things that our customers
appreciate.
Papers can be very different, as can their applications. Our products can
be used as a working tool in a production step, for example as a sample
carrier, but they can also be an important component of a finished
product, e.g. of a urine test strip.
Our products are used in several markets:
„„ Tailor-made filter papers are used to determine the soot content in
emissions tests in the automobile industry.
„„ To isolate DNA and RNA special papers are used in the Life Science
sector. Alongside this they can also be a component of test strips.
„„ Our pleated seed testing strips comply with all ISTA requirements
and are used for quality control in the seed industry.
„„ Our wet strength cardboards are used as protection papers in the
filter press which are used in the pharmaceutical industry.

Our portfolio contains a huge range of filter papers, membranes and
syringe filters.
We produce premium filter papers made from cellulose, linters, glass-
and quartz micro fibres. Sheets, circles and folded filters as well as
extraction thimbles are available in several sizes. Other formats can be
produced on request.
Several different membranes for all daily applications are available.
You can choose the optimum product for your application from a wide
range of syringe filters, whether a syringe of cellulose, mixed esters
or nylon is needed. Whether the syringe is with or without pre-filter,
sterile or non sterile, the portfolio provides nearly every combination.
The syringes also have different coloured edges to avoid confusion
between used syringes.

4. Our history
Hahnemühle FineArt GmbH has been producing filter papers for
more than 100 years. In the past, our well known filter papers have
been converted and marketed under the name Schleicher Schuell.
In 2008 Hahnemühle FineArt took over the Spanish company Filalbet
and founded the affiliate ALBET® Hahnemühle S.L.U. Today, we sell
our filtration products as filter papers, membranes and syringe filters
independently under the brand name ALBET® LabScience.
Our quality claim
We, as producer, guarantee a constant quality of our filter papers.
The certainty of receiving reliable results at every test is one of
the main points that our customers appreciate. Our own Quality
Control labs have extended the standard test methods by adding their
own internal, strict and even more specific methods to meet ever-
increasing demands.
