1. New Creative Ad Format
Alongside the bbc.com responsive website launch, BBC Advertising
launched a new ad format to enhance our online creative solutions for clients
called ‘Ad Tabs’, a direct replacement for the previous wallpaper format.
What’s different?
Uniquely, the Ad Tabs creative works responsively across all
devices* on bbc.com, allowing for up to eight separate “tabs” with
different designs for each. The recommendation is a maximum of
three on smaller devices.
The tabs are
adhesive and follow
the user when
scrolling down the
page.
When a user clicks
on any one tab the
option allows for an
expansion to full
page video overlay.
What does this mean for sales?
The format should be bought as a buyout and purchased with both
the top and right hand slots.
It can run on every page across bbc.com except the News homepage.
It should run for a maximum of 24 hours and all creative needs to be
approved by the ASG.
