The goal of the HIPSteR project is to create a network-based cluster of single FPGA boards, in order to gain performance enhancement, fault tolerance, flexibility and scalability in an embedded scenario. This kind of applications require the development of several interconnected components at the single FPGA level, starting from the low-level architecture up to the network interconnections. The result will be a novel and intuitive network-enhanced architecture, based on the Xilinx PYNQ board, developed with HLS tools that will leverage an open-source Linux-based operating system.
