After profiling you develop the Job Plan. The Job Plan is the marketing piece for the position. The Job Plan consists of 3 parts: A unique and compelling job description that is focused on attracting top performers. 15 to 20 multiple-choice screening questions, designed to identify markers for talent. This is uniquely written for each job in order to attract top performers. 2 to 4 open-ended questions. This allows a candidate to apply his or her experience to the position. These are similar to the questions you might get on a first interview. After developing the job plan and having it reviewed internally and by the hiring manager, the job is launched and posted on appropriate job boards.
A well written, catchy, effective Job Plan is a form of viral marketing.
The job description should appeal directly to the ideal candidate’s skills, experience and motivation. The Initial Interview Questions (IIQs) should effectively filter applicants so that only the most qualified are presented. The Secondary Interview Questions (SIQs) will allow the top applicants to further demonstrate their fit for the position by providing examples of their related experience in a behavioral question set.
Before you write your plan, outline the key thoughts and goals Use the Plan Creation Worksheet Job Description What are the top 3 selling points? What are the top 3 skills/talents/experiences/knowledge needed and why are they essential? Initial interview questions What are the core skills and the desired scope, scale and sector for each? Most job descriptions are written as an open announcement to the world. Make sure you create a job description as if you are writing to that one perfect candidate. Make it personal.
The goal is to say “This is why you want the job, here’s some more information about us and what we’re about, and here are the things that will make you successful in this position.”
Creativity in the title should be balanced against the client, hiring manager, the position and the location. Try to keep the title 50 characters or less.
This will generally be the same across all jobs run for that company, and may be developed with help from the HR or marketing department of that company For a senior level position … VP, Director, or other Executive level, it’s imperative to remind the HM that we post with the company name to ensure they are comfortable with that.
Should be approx 5 to 7 sentences
Note: The keywords here are different than those used for the RSE!
