BECOMING AN ACTOR?

2. Introduction
Have you ever wondered which profession
is the most exciting?. We all have dreams
of becoming something when we grow
up. Maybe some of you want to become
an astronaut, or even a famous Singer. In
this task we will use the imagination and
become whatever we want. In this role
play we will create a character with an
interesting life that we will want to know.
So you are going to ask him or her some
questions in order to apply the contents
on Present Perfect Tense.
3. TASK
You will apply the contents on present perfect tense at the
same of time of puting your creational skills to work.
You will work with a partner.
For this task you will create a character with an interesting job
or hobbie (Doctor, teacher, a person who travels a lot)
You are interested in the things that she or he has done, so you
will ask him/her questions using present perfect.
You will set a context.
One of you will impersonate the character while the other will
be the one who asks the questions.
4. PROCESS Step 2
Create a character of your choice with an
interesting life, such as a doctor or even a
person who travels a lot.

Find a partner
5. Step 3
Create information questions to your character about his or her past experiences,
which mean that you will use present perfect tense. (No less tan 5, no more tan
E.g: Have you ever been to Paris?
Step 4
Give an answer to those questions as you were that character.
E.g.: Yes I’ve there twice!
6. Step 5
Set a context in which you and your character will meet to talk, and then create a
dialogue including your questions. Add an introduction and a closure.
7. Step 6
Check the spelling and grammar
mistakes with your teacher to ensure
that everything is allright.
Step 7
Prepare yourselves to act. One of you will impersonate
the character with the interesting life, while the other will
be the one who asks the questions. Then act the dialog
you created on the context you set in front of the class.

Setting
Character: Mary, a firefighter
Context: An interview for an school Project,
at the firefighters station.
Introduction
Interviewer: Hi, my name is … and I’d like to
ask you some questions about your
proffession…
Mary: Hi! I’m Mary, nice to meet you. I’m
glad you’re here to learn about my
proffession
Interviewer: Can I start then?
Mary: Sure!
9. Body
Interviewer: Have you ever been in dangerous emergencies?
Mary: Yes, I have already been in at least ten during these three years.
Interviewer: How long have you been a firefighter?
Mary: I’m not sure, I think I’ve been a firefighter for more tan six years.
Interviewer: Have you finished your preparation to be a firefighter?
Mary: No, I have not finished it yet. This is a long process and I still have some training courses pending.
Closure
Interviewer: Well, that’s all. Thank you for your time! I hope to see you again!
Mary: It was my pleasure, thank you for your interest. I hope to see again too!
10. CONCLUSION
Now that you all have fullfilled the task,
you have strenghthen your high order
thinking skills as well as your knowledge
on present perfect tense. You are
prepared to ask people about their
previous experiences using the correct
tense.
