Engineers are not writers, but it sure helps them to write once in a while. Our engineering blog in Gurzu is where our experts tell stories of how they solve complex problems. And we hope these blogs can help other people too.
Writing engineering blog is just like your project's documentation. But editors have to keep things like readability, and SEO in mind. Here is a short guide on how engineers can write better blogs that are easier to read (and edit).

Hello fantastic engineers at Gurzu. I am sure everyone here is wondering, “why creative writing classes?”, because you guys are engineers, not writers. And I am sure, most of you don’t enjoy writing either. It is a valid feeling. I enjoy writing, but not writing codes. Not everyone has to be good at everything.
But my thought is that writing, is a form of expression, and not everyone might be elaborate, and expressive, but it is something each one can do. So, let's start by asking how many of you enjoy writing? And it doesn't have to be an engineering blog, but anything: it can be poems, writing facebook status, or your project documentation, assignments, political comments on twitter, journal entries, long emotional text messages to your girlfriend/boyfriend. If you write anything at all, it is already a great start.
I am Alaka, your marketing executive, welcome to knowledge ketchup. And like any other marketing executive ( i guess) I spend a lot of time thinking about content. Content these days come in many forms, there are videos, podcasts, tiktoks, images, infographics, writeups, lots of things. but here in gurzu we focus mostly on written content, our blog. Today I am going to sharing some of my experiences, my plans, things i have learnt etc about blogging. And not just any blogging, but blogging in the context of gurzu, which is an engineering company. And I will talk about how us - as dedicated engineers of Gurzu can help in managing, and growing our blog.
What are blogs guys, I dont know what is a blog or what is not, my thought is that I will know a blog if i see one. Here are some of the blogs I enjoy reading. I read a lot of things, celebrity gossips, movie reviews, marketing blogs, tech blogs, business thought leaderships.
Since I joined Gurzu, I have also been trying to explore more tech blogs.
Why write blogs? Why do we think Engineering teams and engineering people write blogs? Even if they are not a trained writer.
#1 Document your Journey
Blogging is not just a place where you share what you already know. It's also a place where you document your journey when learning a new technology.
For example, let's say you want to learn a new Javascript framework. You can do so by blogging and creating simple tutorials and step-by-step articles where you document what you learn. You don't have to be an expert at anything to start writing online.
#3 You learn at a greater pace
Often, we think we know a topic so well until we start creating content around it and find out that our knowledge wasn't that correct. And this is a benefit of blogging. It amplifies and clarifies what you think you know.
#5 They are educational
Well-written blog posts offer unique perspectives and different solutions to old problems. They help the reader learn about a specific topic and technology, and walk readers through how that topic/technology is applied to help the team work through a challenge. Readers should learn something new.
#2 You become an authority
When you start writing articles around a specific topic, you unintentionally establish yourself as an authority.
For example, if you write an article on CSS for years, you'll be seen as an "authority" in CSS, and people will trust you more because you have been releasing a lot of content for a long time around CSS. This is just how the internet works.
Why these tips? These all things are there but as a marketer gal I also have to think about something else.. What is that? SEO.
Make it readable. You do not know who is reading your blog, from where. Maybe its a beginner, or an expert, a student, an entrepreneur. Use a language that an

Start with an introductory paragraph, give an overall insight on what is the topic, who are the audience who will benefit from it.
Introduction can also just be a summary of what topic you are covering and who is the target audience.
Use headings and subheadings to break up your content into smaller, more manageable sections.
eadings help search engines understand the structure of your content and the topics that you are covering. They also make your content easier to read for users, which can lead to increased engagement and time on page.

IF YOU ARE taking aruko content and paraphrasing, why even write? Creative writing is something you do from your heart, weather its celebrity gossip you are writing, or your sad story or an engineering blog. It is not an assignment, no one is forcing you to do it guys. Paraphrasing without properly citing is also plagiarism. Testo garne intention bhaye pls dotn write baru mai chatgpt lekhna lagauchu.
Copy pasting is not cool. Do no write just to fill in the blanks, or to fill up a space. Write if you actually have something to say. Something to share. Something to contribute. It is okay and is natural to be inspired by things, it is okay to do to research and learn. Steal like an artist bhanne phrase.. If you have taken ideas and information from other sources, please add references.
Like writing codes, writing is also something that we improve over time, and the smallest of things that you are doing build up to polish your skills.
