Este documento describe la evolución hacia la medicina personalizada en oncología, guiada por los atributos moleculares únicos de cada paciente. Se discuten nuevas dianas terapéuticas como los receptores de tirosina quinasa y las vías de señalización alteradas en el cáncer. También se analizan biomarcadores que predicen la eficacia de fármacos dirigidos como trastuzumab, gefitinib y cetuximab. Finalmente, se propone que el futuro de la oncología requerirá caracterizaciones gen
