Carry out planned and remedial work on Oil and Gas fiscal and allocation metering systems.
Produce first-line mismeasurement reports and liaise with onshore engineer. Recommend and
implement improvements to the systems. Maintain the Kims and K-Trac programmes. Carry out
planned and remedial work on all production, utility, fire and gas, and ESD systems. I recently
proposed a solution to audit issues related to temperature which was adopted and the resultant
lagging campaign resolved auditor concerns. I am coach and mentor for our trainee and ex-forces
instrument technician trainees for all metering matters, and a member of the Emergency Response

AMEC & METCO Services – Cormorant Alpha/North Jan 98 –Nov 05
Originally tasked with bringing the metering system back up to the correct standard after a negative
audit on the Cormorant Alpha, I then went on to collect evidential data on reliability which allowed
us to reduce planned maintenance and frequency to a level more appropriate to the system while
maintaining standards. Responsible for onboard fiscal records and first-line mis-measurement
reporting, I prioritised, organised and carried out planned and remedial work on fiscal and allocation
metering as the sole responsible technician, and as part of the wider team I also carried out planned
and remedial work on production, utility and fire & Gas systems as required.

As an instrument technician I performed planned and remedial maintenance safely with minimum
down time. I was responsible for re-certification work on oil and gas metering systems to fiscal
standards, keeping of statutory records, and preparation of technical reports for supervision.
I analysed trends and information to diagnose problems and effect solutions. I was the Stand-in for
the Senior Instrument Specialist as and when required, and organised and co-ordinated the annual
shutdown for the systems group to tie in with other disciplines. I also led the project team to install
and commission a gas lift kick-off system.
I proactively identified an improved method of preventing seal oil entering junction boxes on gas
compressors which was adopted and reduced downtime.
