October 2013 – August 2014 Process Engineer at CelesticaTM
Aerospace and Defence Centre of Excellence – EMS (Electronic
Manufacturing Services) (Valencia, Spain)
Tasks:
Engineering support to the assembly line production.
Optimization of work instructions and layout.
Development of Lean Projects, including reduction of waste and
therefore costs that don’t add value.
Improvement in the efficiency and quality of the soldering wave
process.
Create a fixed staff to process all printed circuit boards through the
wave soldier, achieving the specialization of the team.
Time analysis and development of a new scheduling application, to
optimize the planning of the cell.
Change the lay-out of the Manual Insertion zone from seven to two
workers, needed to balance properly the times of insertion and
inspection, in order to meet Cycle-Times with Takt-Times
requirements.
Apply SMED method for reduction in changing times.
Introduction of computer screens for the work instruction, instead of
using paper that causes high rate of scrap.
Introduction of control tables at the wave line, in order to keep track
of changes.
