7. MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS
A municipal corporation is the legal term for a local governing body,
including (but not necessarily limited to) cities, counties, towns, townships, charter
townships, villages, and boroughs.
8.  Municipal corporations are established in big cities.
 The Councilors are elected for Five Years.
 From the councilors, the Mayor is elected.
 1/3rd seats are reserved for women.
 Seats are also reserved for SC and ST.
 The municipal commissioner is the Chief Executive
Officer(CEO)

recognizable routes without any formal construction or maintenance.

18.  Cantonment Board is one of civic administration body in India under
control of Ministry of Defence. The Board comprise elected members
besides ex-officio and nominated members as per the Cantonments Act,
2006. The term of office of a member of a Board shall be five years. The
Cantonment Board consists of eight elected Members, three nominated
Military Members, three Ex-officio Members (Station Commander, Garrison
Engineer and senior executive Medical Officer), one representative of the
District Magistrate. Cantonments is divided into four categories, namely,

ď‚— Category II - population exceeds ten thousand, but does not exceed fifty
thousand
ď‚— Category III - population exceeds two thousand five hundred, but does not
exceed ten thousand
