21. Lot’s Lust of the Eyes - Genesis 13:10-11
The scripture does not say that Lot:
1. prayed to God to consider if he should leave his
uncle’s care.
2. asked God for guidance in selecting the land.
3. was sad or grieved that he was leaving Abram.
4. thanked Abram for everything he had done for
him being a father to him when his father died and
providing for him all these years.
5. pledged allegiance to him if Abram ever needed
his help.

22. Lot’s Decisions and Consequences
1. Captured by eastern marauders, Taken captive, then rescued by
Uncle Abraham Genesis 14:1-16
2. Offered his daughters to be molested by his ungodly and
vicious neighbors
3. Entire household operated in the spirit of rebellion!
4. Life was saved but he lost his possessions and his property in
the burning city of Sodom Genesis 19; Luke 17:28,29
5. Commits incest with his daughters Genesis 19:30-38 which
Resulted in the birth of his Descendants who were the
AMMONITES MOABITES…idolaters who conspired and fought
against the children of Israel.

24. Lot’s Lessons
1. Everything that looks good is not always good for you!
2. Pray, Ask God or seek godly counsel before making life
decisions.
3. God is a God of Many chances. God rescued Lot several
times in spite of his poor decisions.
4. You can’t live with the Sodomites and not be affected by their
lifestyle, culture and mindset. His whole household was
adversely affected by his poor decision.
5. Whenever we make poor decisions we must live with the
consequences. The Moabites and the Ammonites are birthed
in our own homes.

25. Summary
1. God was waiting patiently for me just like He waited on Lot.
2. God was ready to rescue me just like he rescued Lot
3. God was ready to save me just like he saved Lot from Sodom
4. God says “It’s never too late to Turn your life around and
don’t look back like Lot’s wife. Leave the past in the past!
5. God gave me this sermon in June 2007 because he wanted to
see the areas in my life where I was a Lot like Lot.
6. And if you are willing; God is able to help you stop being:
“A lot like Lot!”
