1. PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
AFEW (K) will only review and approve complete proposals, so please follow these
guidelines carefully.
1. You must include the following items:
a. AFEW Proposal application form in English
b. One page summary of your project proposal in English
c. Copy of AFEW’s or relevant training certificate
d. Copy of registration certificate of environment club or organization
e. A letter of recommendation from the head teacher
f. Official minutes that indicate agreement of initiating project
g. include photographs of the current state of project area or institution
2. Your proposal must aim at promoting Education for Sustainable Development and
environment conservation within and beyond your school or organization.
3. For the AFEW application form:
− A current email address is absolutely necessary so we can confirm arrival of your
proposal, communicate after we have vetted your proposal, or ask additional
questions or amendments.
− Due to the many proposals that the center receives, the selection panel will only
consider proposals with well illustrated outputs, impacts and benefit sharing.
− AFEW encourages the use and reuse of locally available resources/ materials
− The total cost of your budget must be below Ksh 100,000. The organization allows
funding of project in phases. It is also possible to receive more funding upon
successful completion of initial project.
− All school funded projects will automatically join AFEW’s Best Green School
competition awarded annually in June.
− AFEW will usually disburse funds during the month of February annually therefore
proposals should arrive not later than the month of August preceding year.

• AFEW may use reports and photos on our publications with credit to the institution.
