GIBRALTAR BUSINESS CAPITAL ANNOUNCES EXPANSION
OF ITS CORPORATE GIVING PROGRAM
Northbrook, IL—(June 3, 2014) Gibraltar Business Capital announced that it will be expanding its
corporate giving program with sponsorship activities in support of the Cancer Wellness Center of
Northbrook, IL, as well as looking into additional organizations in the Chicago area and across the US.
Gibraltar Business Capital has long been a sponsor of events organized by the Cancer Wellness Center,
and will continue to strengthen its involvement. Building on these efforts, the company shared that it
will also be exploring new initiatives to benefit various causes that are important in the communities in
which the company operates.
This year, Gibraltar Business Capital will again serve as a sponsor of the 9th
Annual Cancer Wellness
Center Golf Outing on July 14, 2014. Hosted at Olympia Fields Country Club, this tournament is a major
fundraising event with all proceeds supporting the Cancer Wellness Center. In the past two years,
through Gibraltar Business Capital’s donations, fundraising efforts and participation on the Center’s
Board of Directors, the company has helped to raise more than $150,000 for the Cancer Wellness
Center.
“We’re delighted to support the Cancer Wellness Center and their annual golf outing,” said Scott
Winicour, COO of Gibraltar Business Capital and a member of the Board of Directors for the Cancer
Wellness Center. “Each year, this event is well received by participants, driving awareness and
broadening the Center’s base of supporters, which in turn helps to provide much needed funding. We
take pride in knowing that our participation supports the Center’s ability to continue offering all of their
services completely free of charge to the community.”
Scott Winicour is also serving as Co-Chair of the Center’s 25th
Anniversary Benefit Event, which will take
place October 25, 2014 at the Westin Chicago North Shore, in Wheeling. Inspired by his mother Patsy
Winicour and several friends who originally helped to found the Cancer Wellness Center in 1989, Scott
and his family continue to be active supporters of the organization. “The Cancer Wellness Center is such
an incredible resource, recognized for their highly effective counseling and wellness programs that really
2. help to empower individuals and enhance their quality of life as they deal with a difficult illness,” added
Scott. “It means a great deal to Gibraltar employees and their families to play a role that makes
a discernible difference in people’s lives. We applaud the Center’s work for so many years, and look
forward to deepening our relationship in the future.”
Recently, more than 25 Gibraltar employees, and their family and friends, took part in the 10th Annual
“Stepping Up To Wellness Run/Walk” on behalf of the Cancer Wellness Center of Northbrook, IL.
Approximately 800 participants in total helped to raise over $100,000 for the Center.
“We’re fortunate to have the support of the team at Gibraltar, and they’ve expressed to us what it
means to them personally and as a company to be a part of the Center,” noted Nancy Bulzoni, Executive
Director of the Cancer Wellness Center. “We really appreciate that this group dedicates their personal
time and fundraising efforts and look forward to further collaborating in the years to come.”
About the Cancer Wellness Center
The Cancer Wellness Center was founded in 1989 by Patsy Winicour of Deerfield, Judy Brannon of Lake
Forest, and the late Mary DeJager of Lake Forest, whose collective goal was to “help people live better
while living with cancer.” Headquartered in Northbrook, the Center also serves the community with
another facility in Grayslake.
The mission of the Cancer Wellness Center is to empower those affected by cancer and enhance the
quality of their lives through psychosocial support and education. The Center offers many educational
programs and special events throughout the year, which often include an experiential element,
featuring professionals from a variety of fields, sharing the most current and useful information
possible. All programs and services are completely free of charge, thanks to the dedicated donors of
the organization.
3. The Center also offers much needed counseling sessions either one-on-one or for the family, plus a
variety of regularly scheduled classes for healthy living and overall wellness of mind, body and spirit,
including acupuncture, meditation, nutritional counseling, reflexology, cranio sacral massage therapy,
reiki, yoga, and much more. For more information about the 9th
Annual Cancer Wellness Center Golf

Cancer Wellness Center has been a partner of Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, which
also offers programs at their Cancer Survivorship Center.
