SAFEWAY FOUNDATIONWalmart and the Walmart Foundation have
identified four core areas of giving: Hunger Relief &
Healthy Eating, Sustainability, Women's Economic
Empowerment and Opportunity. To ensure that
your application has the best chance of being
funded, the proposed use of the grant should fit
within one of these areas of giving. Primary
consideration for the Community Grant program is
to support local organizations with programs that
align with Walmart and the Foundation’s areas of
giving. However, programs that do not align with
these areas may also be given consideration. These
include programs that are geared toward
strengthening the local communities, for example:
local organizations providing health and dental
screenings, support for local police and fire
departments and local school-based initiatives.
Community Grants range from a minimum
of $250 to the maximum grant of $2,500.
Organizations must submit an online
application to be considered for funding.
The 2016 grant cycle begins Feb. 1,
2016 and the application deadline is Dec.
31, 2016.
Applications may be submitted at any time
during this funding cycle.
WALMART FOUNDATION
Reminder about organizational budgets and program
budgets: The program budget is the total amount you
need to operate a particular program that you have
and that same program budget should be included in
your overall organizational budget.
If your organization plans to conduct a 1 or 2 day
event, you may want to consider writing a letter to
your local city council person for a small donation
ranging from $500-$2500. Call your local council
office and find out how you submit your request.
