Kyoto Protocol (11 December 1997) operationalizes the

and economies in transition to limit and reduce
greenhouse gases emissions in accordance with agreed
individual targets till 2020
three mechanisms are to achieve the Kyoto targets:
International Emissions Trading. Clean Development
Mechanism. Joint Implementation.
It is the first major international effort to slow global
climate change.
