Why AI is important
3. • AI is the simulation of Human intelligence processes by machines,
especially computer systems.
• Mimics human brain
• AI helps machines to find solutions for complex problems in a more
human-like fashion.
• Borrowing characteristics from human intelligence,& applying them as
algorithms in a computer friendly way.
4. How does AI work ?
• AI works by combining large amounts of data with
fast , iterative processing and intelligent
algorithms , allowing the software to learn
automatically from patterns or features in the
data.
5. Early history of AI
• In 1950 English mathematician Alan Turing
wrote a land mark paper titled “Computing
Machinery and Intelligence” that asked the
question: ”Can machines think ?”
• Further work came out of a 1956 workshop
at Dartmouth sponsored by Jhon
McCarthy. In the proposal for that
workshop, he coined the phrase “study of
Artificial Intelligence”
6. General information about ai
• The UK is one of the best places in the world to
develop Artificial intelligence (AI) and data
analytics , with the sector worth over 15.6
billion euro.
7. Advantages & disadvantages of AI
Advantages
i. Good at detail-oriented jobs
ii. Reduced time for data-heavy tasks
iii. Delivers consistent results and
iv. AI-powered virtual agents are always available.
8. Disadvantages
i. Expensive
ii. Requires deep technical expertise
iii. Limited qualified workers to build AI tools
iv. Only knows what it’s been shown and
v. Lack of ability to generalize from one task to another.
9. Applications of AI
AI in Healthcare
AI in Business
AI in Education
AI in Finance
AI in Law
AI in Manufacturing
AI in Banking
AI in Transportation
AI in Security
10. Why is AI Important ?
• AI tools often complete jobs quickly and with relatively
few errors.
• In some cases , AI can perform tasks better than
humans.
• AI enhances the speed, precision and effectiveness of
human efforts.
