I am currently at the University of Gloucestershire studying marketing. I am an enthusiastic
individual, of whom is high motivated an eager to work in marketing. I have a broad
spectrum of various industry experience, with a larger focus on consumer industries.
Key skills
Enthusiastic to learn new skills and gain new experiences
As proven by my vast experience across a range of industries I am keen to keep
learning more skills and gain more experiences. On example of this is the summer
work I have just completed. This was a completely difference environment and
industry, having never worked in a team of 10 or more, nor worked within
manufacturing.
At the age of 15 I began volunteering I was eager to learn skills such as working with
various people and customers and finding out that helping people was very
rewarding.
Able to effectivelywork as a team or individually
As bar staff and waiting at the racecourse we have to work as a team or individually.
One example of this is during bar shifts. While it is quiet we have our own individual
tasks. However, when it is busier we must work as a team to ensure customer get
the most satisfaction form their experience at the racecourse.
Another example of being able to adapt is while working at kingfisher. This was a fast
paced environment where we were expected to be able to work as a team however,
also be able to make our own decisions and think for ourselves.
Effectivelyuse initiative when solving problems
While working as a machine operator we faced many problems. When a machine
was to break down this would cause downtime. As an operator we had help in any
way we could to fixed the issue or find an alternative way.
Self-motivated / organised
While studying A-levels I was able to balance working a part time job, volunteering
and studying. All three carrying their own individual responsibilities that had to be
met.
I am finding that now I am at University I must be very organised in order to manage
my time effectively, I balanced my studies alongside work at my part time job/
Creative
One job role that came with volunteering at the charity shop was using the shop
window to its true potential. A simple thing like what colour dress was on the
mannequin could affect how many customers wanted to come in
My work experience in the marketing department showed my creative side. I had a
week to create a product that would impress the managers. My feedback was
extremely positive, with many shocked when they found out that I was only 15.
July 2016 machine operator, Ginsters Ltd, Callington, Cornwall
My main duty was to work in a team on the factory floor, we were under pressure to meet
tight deadlines. Of which, had to be methodical in order to complete the orders and tasks
required.
Experience
Profile
2. January 2016 Bar staff/Waitress, CheltenhamRacecourse, Cheltenham
Working for a high end establishment provided me with then insight on how to deal with high
profile customers. One key quality being attention to detail. When customers are paying a lot
of money for a service/ product it is important that they receive the best care and attention.
Feb 2014 catering assistant, kingfisher fish and chips, Plymouth
Working in a customer focused environment means that a friendly and enthusiastic service is
vital. I have, from this experience, ensured that in all industries that I work in I am
enthusiastic about all the work I am doing. As well as ensuring the team are fully motivated.
June 2012 sales and marketing department, Ginsters Ltd, Callington, Cornwall
This experience was my first insight into the marketing industry. During my week working
with the marketing team I had to design a new product, research the market (school children
ages 7-18), analyze the data collected, design the advertising campaign for the product and
then on the final day present a sales pitch to the marketing management team. My time at
Ginsters was what ensured me that I wanted to pursue a career in marketing.
April 2012 volunteer sales assistant, The Red Cross, Ridgeway, Plympton
While volunteering I learned Organization and planning skills within a business environment.
As part of my job I had to ensure the shop was open on time and closed on time. As well as
this we had to work out the right time of when to change over stock for the seasons. For
example, ensuring that it wouldn’t impact the business by closing on busy day.

at my local charity shop, this has taught me many things whilst there such as communicating
affectively, sales and customer relations. Whilst volunteering I continued to part take in my
