KEY POINT: In the last slide we showed a big solution map that encompasses ALL HP can do for enterprises…
Now let’s drill down into what enterprises are typically DOING in mobility and identify where HP can help.
We see enterprises focused on employee productivity OR helping the business units/marketing teams with customer mobility… The interesting thing is that most customers do NOT have enough resources to address both these use cases at the same time. Position HP as having the ability to augment their IT team’s capabilities - to let them do even more when partnered with HP..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You have seen that HP has many capabilities to help enterprises with their mobility initiatives… but let's now move on - to discuss the two most typical use cases we see across many regions and industries
The first use case is productivity for employees. The real impetus here is to provide great employee services - including bring your own device (BYOD) - that will meet the consumer-level expectations your employees have developed in the past several years. The tension here - is to provide those services quickly, while maintaining sufficient control and keeping your employees accountable.
BYOD can be straightforward for email and calendar if ActiveSync is in place…. But the real value of mobility is to empower employees by mobilizing business functions like sales work and customer service to mobile devices. In these cases, informed decisions have to be made about application architectures and extending business processes.
In the new mobility world, empowered employees provide better customer service and are more satisfied. And finally satisfied employees are more likely to follow security guidelines in the use of their mobile devices… an important consideration given today’s complex security environment.
The second use case is mobility as a center of excellence. In this use case, the IT team works to come alongside the various business units and marketing teams within their organization: and enable/facilitate building great user experiences for the enterprise’s customers by establishing and sharing mobility best practices and guidelines
It is important here - that the center of excellence is not perceived as a method of governance or control - but as an accelerator, preventing each business unit from having to solve key problems like security, app dev technologies or app architectures all by themselves. In some cases, enterprises have established a mobility center of excellence and put it under the control of a VP of User Experience. This is a great way to go and a great example of a Mobility Center of excellence
KEY POINT: All elements of Mobility are interconnected and cannot be considered in isolation. That is why working with HP is so important. We have strengths in all key areas of mobility TODAY. This Mobility Solution Map is not a plan or a roadmap but answers a key question…“What can HP do to help my enterprise NOW in Mobility?”

At the center you see devices - surrounded by people, applications and data… Surrounding that is secure connectivity… And surrounding is management, operations and strategy. At HP we believe that all these Mobility elements are interconnected and must be considered together to create a truly successful, connected mobility environment. So what capabilities does HP have today - to help your organization?

Management: Many firms are trying to decide how best to provide management of the devices that they corporately provide to senior staff or that employees are already bringing to work themselves (BYOD). HP provides cloud-based data management, application management and mobile device management as a service to help enterprises get off the ground in this area very quickly..
