The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State administers a variety of educational and cultural programs, including

The flagship international exchange program sponsored by the United States Government, the fulbright.state.gov
Fulbright Program is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United
States and the people of other countries. It promotes leadership development through learning
and international cooperation. The Fulbright Program operates in more than 155 countries and
over 285,000 participants — chosen for their academic merit and leadership potential — have had
the opportunity to study, teach and conduct research in each others' countries and exchange ideas.

scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors in East Asia,
Eurasia and Central Asia, the Near East and South Asia and the Western Hemisphere for non‐
degree full‐time study combined with community service, internships and cultural enrichment.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Program is a one‐year, full scholarship program offered to mid‐career exchanges.state.gov/globalexchanges/humphrey‐

• Arts Scholarships: scholarships for students in the arts and arts‐
related fields (e.g. art history, arts management); primarily
aimed at graduate students, but can be awarded to
undergraduate students if programs do not exist in Slovenia or
in other exceptional circumstances. Funded by the Ministry of
Culture of Slovenia.
• Corporate Scholarships: employers in Slovenia offer
scholarships as part of their long‐term recruitment strategy.
They can be also obtained for study abroad provided both
student and employer agree, while some are offered
specifically for study abroad.
• Municipality and private foundation scholarships: many Slovene
municipalities as well as private foundations offer various
scholarships either based on residency or field of study.
Scholarships exist for athletes, arts, legal studies, etc.
• State Scholarships: need‐based scholarships awarded for study
in Slovenia or abroad for either undergraduate or graduate
studies. Although there is no limit regarding field of studies,
