trucks will be center stage
at the 13th annual Mud Bog!
Vehicles from the size of
all-terrain vehicles, up to
trucks with 44 inch tires,
will participate. Vehicles
will race trough pits of mud
that are a set length.
Spectators will have more
opportunities to get muddy
with a children’s race and
competition, for children
over the age 5.

CYSS has a wonderful opportunity for
you. They are in dire need of Referee’s,
Coach’s and Assistant Coach’s. Great

– YOUTH SUMMER THEATRE CAMP- Junction City Little Theatre's annual theatre camp
for kids will be held in June. Watch our web site at www.jclit.info or Junction City

– MONTHLY BIRDWALK
Join Chuck Otte for this fun and informative bird walk once a month, weather
permitting, in and around the Milford Lake area. These hikes are for beginning
birdwatchers as well as those that have some experience. Bring binoculars and a bird
ID book if you have them. Everyone is invited! Please note that all dates are tentative
and subject to change. This program is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Milford
Nature Center and Milford State Park.
Ages/Grades: All ages

Girl Scouts offers a general program for adult civic groups on what Girl Scouts is all
about. This presentation will focus on the core values of the Girl Scout program,
changes over the last two years, and volunteer needs in the community.

– Dorothy Bramlage Library Storytimes - Parents and children, babies through
preschoolers, are invited to storytime at the library. Storytime is designed to foster
the love of books and reading, and encourage children on the path to becoming
great readers. Stories, songs, fingerplays, games, and crafts are centered around a
weekly theme.
• Wiggles & Giggles Baby Time- A time for parents and infants to interact. Each
child must be accompanied one-to-one by an adult. Registration is required.
Age:0-18 months Time: Thursdays at 10am
• Mother Goose Toddler Time - Accompanied by parents or caregivers, this
storytime is designed for children ages 18 to 36 months. Age:18-36 months
Time: Wednesdays at 10 am
• Preschool Story Time - For children without accompanying adults. Choose
one of three sessions each week. Age:3-5 years Time: Tuesdays at 10 am
Wednesdays at 1 pm Thursdays at 11 am
• Evening Storytime- Families are invited to get ready for bed with this evening
story program, Age:3-8 years, Time: Tuesdays at 6 pm.
– Kindermusik - Saturday mornings (Starting June 9): 9:00 - 10:00 am (2-4 year olds),
C.L. Hoover Opera House

per month which includes $20 worth of At-Home Materials (CD and parent activity
magazine, and every other month a take-home instrument) that are yours to keep!

– Kids Art Classes - Free art class for kids in grades K-5 on Saturdays from noon to1
pm. A variety of art concepts will be learned and kids get a chance to use a wide

– Preschool Art Classes - Naomi Williams teaches preschool art class on Wednesday
mornings, 9-10 am Little ones have lots of fun while they learn about color, shape

– Boys & Girls Club of Junction City / Geary County Summer Program for students in
Kindergarten through 5th grade from 5:30 AM – 5:45 PM Monday through Friday with fees
based on family income. Contact Renae Honsinger at 717-4025 for information.
– YMCA Day Camp – for ages 6 (graduated Kindergarten) through Middle School . Times 6am
-6pm $15 a day or 8:00am -4:00pm $10 a day. Daily activities to include swimming ,
movies and various field trips for more information contact Nancy Smith at (785)238-2972
• Manhattan –
– Manhattan Arts Center (MAC) has a summer program. Details are not complete at this time.
– Adventure Camp through the Flint Hills Discovery Center
– Flint Hills Summer Fun Camp- is a camp for kids on the autism spectrum, about 2/3 of the
camp are peer models while the other 1/3 are on the spectrum. This year they have a magic
theme.
– ANIMAL CRACKERS SUMMER CAMP -Sunset Zoo Animal Crackers Summer Camp is for kids
ages five to seven and must have completed Kindergarten. Camper activities will include live
animal interactions, themed tours of the zoo, crafts, games, and storytimes. Please contact
Sunset Zoo, 785-587-2737, should you have any difficulties during registration. FEES: $115
for full day, $85 for half day. Sunset Zoo Members: $105/$75. Appropriate fees calculated
during registration process.
– SUMMER SAFARI SUMMER CAMP- Sunset Zoo Summer Safari Summer Camp is for kids ages
eight and nine. We'll engage in activities around the Zoo, crafts, stories, live animal
interactions, themed Zoo tours, and take weekly field trips around Manhattan and beyond
to further explore the weekly theme. Please contact Sunset Zoo, 785-587-2737, should you
have any difficulties during registration. FEES: $115 for full day, $85 for half day. Sunset Zoo
Members: $105/$75. Appropriate fees calculated during registration process. This activity
is eligible for a payment plan or can be paid in full today. A minimum of 50% of each
session's fee is due today to reserve a child's spot. A $20 non-refundable deposit will be held
for each enrolled camp session. Sessions must be paid in full within five working days prior
to the first day of each camp session.

– NATURE NAVIGATORS SUMMER CAMP -Sunset Zoo Nature Navigators Summer
Camp is for kids ages ten to twelve. They will explore the world around them with
friends through nature hikes, Zoo tours, engaging projects, group games, live animal
encounters, and field trips to sites around town and around the region. Some weeks
will include conservation projects and opportunities for Navigators to develop their
skills at implementing the scientific process. Please contact Sunset Zoo, 785-587-
2737, should you have any difficulties during registration. FEES: $115 for full day,
$85 for half day. Sunset Zoo Members: $105/$75. Appropriate fees calculated during

enrolled in kindergarten ages 5- 7 yrs
– Baseball and Softball at the Manhattan Park and Recreation- Baseball for grades 1-
12 and Softball for grades 1-12. ages 6- 19 yrs .

The Network meeting is open to any and all interested in knowing what is upcoming in the Fort Riley Community.   • 21. Junction City Annual Mud Bog May 3rd 1:00pm 1111 Grant Ave. Junction City no coolers allowed, however there will be food and drink vendors on site. Slinging mud and loud trucks will be center stage at the 13th annual Mud Bog! Vehicles from the size of all-terrain vehicles, up to trucks with 44 inch tires, will participate. Vehicles will race trough pits of mud that are a set length. Spectators will have more opportunities to get muddy with a children’s race and competition, for children over the age 5.
