Spider man (2002) scene review
1. I picked this screen shot
from the 1st
Sam Raimi
Spiderman film because I felt
like this scene has a lot of
sides / views to it. As well as
a lot of in depth information
about both characters and
their views on being super
enhanced villains / heroes.
One of the things I want to point out is the costumes as ween they’re in
their iconic hero and villain costumes but the thing that stands out are
the colors and the look as to say. Spiderman is very bright with red and
blue as his main 2 colors on his suit. This is more of a refence to the suit
in the comics of course but looking at it from and audience stand point
we can tell he is the protagonists we are routing for due to the
brightness of the suit and the less sinister look to it. Although if we
look at the green goblin his suit is metallic dark green and mixes in with
black. Also, the look of his suit with an option to have human eyes
instead of the orange visor gives him more of a threatening personality
due to him being very human yet very sick and disturbed.
2. Another part to address is how the characters dialog and positioning
effect the conversation. Its set on a roof top making it very isolated and
alone for the 2 of them with this brings fear and somewhat of
nonsecrity to Spiderman makinging him quite isolated. As well as he is
lower than the green goblin and paralyzed at that with not being able
to move he literally has no power over the situation. With green goblins
dialog somewhat threating too trying to make a deal with Spiderman I
gives somewhat of uncertainty to the audience of the goblins plans
with him. Showing this dominance of the goblin shows hes in control of
the situation with the camera looking up at him and him being the one
with freedom of control this shows who’s in charge no matter how
much we don’t want it to be him.
