2. What I did this week was work on looking at styles of work that I can use in my work
and the production behind it. With looking at how screen writers made films was one of
the key parts making sure the film I make is written properly therefor my project will
have a lot more thought to the story. As well as looking how to set a scene with the
costumes I use. Making sure that the stuff I use suits the set and the feel of the film.
With this knowledge it'll allow me to make a more immersive experience. As well as
what I found looking at all of these directors and films was the affect camera can do to
people. With the mixture of these different shots as well as the story I should get a solid
piece of work. All of these aspects will help me write the story and give it a purpose to
keep it moving forward.
3. What I did this week was collect primary research by making a survey on survey
monkey. Doing this will mean I get in all the information I need for my film and what the
people want to see. Having these all done will mean I can suit to and audience I want
to. Adapting the ideas I had to suit these people. Making these changes will help my
production have a better evaluation and feedback due to it try or hitting these guidelines
the viewer set. Therefor with there satisfaction making the project look better and
meaning it can go out to a wider audience. Therefor using this idea means my project
can get out there and be met with all sorts of reviews.
4. What we started this week was looking into how our production was going to be made.
Looking at how to budget the work as well as how other people did there shoots. This is
to aid us in making our film and to go with our experiments the following week. Therefor
this will give us the feel of how our production will go down. This would mean I have an
idea of time and what I can make in that time period.
5. What we did this week was look at the problems that may occur during production.
Doing this without having done any work on this before hand meant that I had to reefer
back to work that I did in the past. How I did this was reviewing my previous risk
assessments and problems and used them to make the problems and risks power
point.
This will help me in my experiments next week due to me being able to work with a time
frame and well thought out risk plans that I had made the previous week. This would
make next week feel like I proper production going though all the plans and risks id
thought of.
6. What I did this week was look at what I could make as a product to show off all the
effects I've done. What ill do with this is shoot in my spare time a clip that can easily be
edited to the areas I need and can test out my use of after effects.
As well as doing this I devised a crew of actors and crew with multiple jobs meaning
they know where they stand in the group. With this it makes sure everyone knows what
they are meant to be doing and what times, items they will need to bring on the shooting
days. Having multiple jobs means if anyone is absent or changes there mind they can
do it. Everyone having a bio and skills set labeled out helps me too keep track of
people.
7. What I did this week was go out and looked at where I could shoot. After taking some
pictures I was able to find a suitable location. After that I started to arrange when I could
film. Although with this I came to my 1st issue with a selection of the cast not being able
to make it to the shoot how. What I did was change it to filming to a photography shoot
giving me something to work with while re arranging another filming date. With these
images I made character posters. Meaning everychacter has there own logo and there
own poster that I can use in the future to count down the film.
With issue occurring what ill do is ill ask everyone individually if they can make it and
make sure I can have a full cast that I’ll need. With this info ill be able to shoot the
scene that needs be.
8. What I looked at this week was starting production on my project with the planning I had
made so far. One of the 1st problems I ran into was the weather. Due to the wind I'm
going to have to go over my film in post and dub as well as add more sounds in to get
the wind effect out. This will ad more into my production due to the fact I'm going to
have to add all of this in post next to my voice work I've been doing. Adding this in now
spawns a new problem of making it sound like it was captured on set rather than sound
like its too artificially done this will mean re recording movement and speech of each
character.
How we going to get all this is exporting a short clip that we've made and trying to link
the movement sounds to it.
9. Doing filming and editing this week where I looked
at what I wanted to shoot and what I did in post. I
set a secdual. Of what I wanted to shoot that day.
We manged to do everything within an hour of
that secdual. With that it meant we could make a
start on the second section of the film. This meant
that it means all the stuff extra we film can be re
done in the future if needs be due to the extra
time we have this’ll let me experiment with shots
more and see what looks good where.
What I also did thoes week was perfect every
single after effects shots I did with the gunshots
and sound effects following alongside. I also tried
animating text for the title of the production where
I animated a disintegrating effect.
10. This week I focused on after effects again
making bullet cartages to fall out of guns
and making the muzzle flash and the
sounding area light up when the shots
been fired. How I did this was I looked up
a muzzle flash tutorial on Youtube and
from there I was able to make the muzzle
flash I wanted from that I used the
knowledge I knew to mask over areas
where the flash was going to affect on the
body of the character and around. Where
the shot was taken from.
11. This week was focused testing out and
editing filters for the final product. What I
did here was I added an adjustment layer
to the product and was able to edit each bit
of work at once. I was able to browse
though filters that I wanted and then edit
them on the go adjusting the sharpness
and contrast making some colors brighter
and stand out more but giving the darker
colors and the blacks more of an outline.
This is a theme I want for my film because
it gives it the wasteland acid vibe I was
going for.
12. Due to another week with little filming I focused on making my
posters and my trailer for my film.
For my posters I used photography I did on some of the shoot
days and use that as work I can do when I have little to no
filming. With every poster a logo is made for the character with
there own individual color scheme to make them stand out.
The trailer was made with footage I already had collected for the
film using shots that weren’t used. Meaning I'm using all the
shots I can for the trailer. As well as this I will shoot parts for the
trailer separately so I have filler and more content just for the
trailer. This will involve shots done in after effects to look like they
have had the same treatment as every other shot in the
sequence.
13. Week 5 I focused on doing the action
sequences for my film doing lots of quick cuts
and close up shots in the action with this
knowledge of what I wanted while I was
shooting I was able to shoot in such a way that
makes its easier to make the action as well as
being able to see how the action moves
throughout the film meaning I can do full shoots
with the action and reaction shots.
Week 6 was sound where I asked to get voice
lines and sounds of actions like punching from
other actors. Meaning when action happened I
can dub it over with my own sound giving it that
more of an impact on screen. With most of the
fighting not actually happening on the base
footage because there was no contact being
made it meaning there was no impact sound on
the raw footage.
14. This week I was focusing on the final
scenes of my film. This will be an action
sequence between the main villain and
protagonist fighting it out over the
package. With this scene it will be close
shots of each hit and punch thrown.
Already with the set up for the shot already
done its progressing for the shots we
already have. Adding in the sound effect
we had pre recorded therefor being able to
add more clearer and clean sound over the
top to help the audience understand the
meaning I wanted to entail.
