supervise overhaul on gas turbine, pumps and compressors. Experience
on Solar mars turbines TB 5000 and Tornado gas turbines, pignone
compressors and various pumps David brown, Weir, Begerman Sulzer
etc. Also experienced in fault finding and troubleshooting of sealing
systems Also part of team to organize plant shutdown for maintenance.
Supervise and instruct local personnel to carry out overhaul and repair of
equipment.
1996 - 2000 General Electric Aberdeen
Service Engineer
Overhaul of gas compressors, complete disassembly of rotors, and full
inspection to workshop standard.
Bundle and diaphragm overhaul, rotor balancing (Cemb machine).
Required to work in the field as Technical Advisor, in the North Sea and
worldwide. Experience of BCL, MCL, SRL Compressors. Experience
also on PGT 10 gas turbine. Training at John Crane Workshops for
installation of dry gas seals. Also worked in construction division,
installing new machines and assisting with commissioning.
1990 – 1996 Weir Pumps Limited Glasgow
Service Engineer
Duties involved the repair and maintenance of full range of Weir pumps,
Injection pumps multi stage. Fire pumps, sea-water lift pumps. Trained in
the use of Rotalign equipment. Also familiar with basic alignment
procedure, reverse alignment, rim and face alignment, etc. Traveled
throughout the north sea and worldwide.
1978 – 1990 Scottish Hydro Electric
Maintenance Technician
Based at Foyers Power Station, I held the post of Station Maintenance
Technician. My duties were varied from complete overhaul of 150MW
pump turbines to overhaul of air compressors pumps, valves and
hydraulic actuators. I was also required to work throughout the group
with a maintenance team in other locations. Experience in turning
milling. Also assisted electrical department in maintenance of circuit
breakers, brush gear maintenance overhaul of electric motors.
