NE WI PAN MEMBERS
Welcome Chaplain Sumit Sen
New Chaplain of Brown County Jail
Sumit shared a brief biography. Born in India, he
attended college in Sioux City, IA. Following
graduation, he pastured small churches in Iowa as
well as an Indian mission in New Mexico before
coming to Brown County where is currently pastor
of Bay Evangelical Covenant Church (BECC).
He considers himself to be a servant of Christ,
reconciling people to Christ and community through
the transformation of lives. Sumit shared that from
his experience those who leave jail generally don’t
have a support network and many have lost
families who no longer wish to support or
encourage them because of past behaviors. To
achieve some level of success, Chaplain Sen
encourages continued development of ongoing
programs (anger management, AODA, parenting
courses, etc). He considers himself best suited for
one-on-one ministry and hopes for an increased
level of involvement by volunteers willing to do
group activities—especially activities not currently
offered.
The Sunday afternoon chapel services include men
(12:45), women (1:45), and Gulf (3:00). Because
the current worship team is comprised primarily of
members of BECC, anyone interested and willing to
provide this service would be most welcome.
Contact Chaplain Sen for particulars.

(A note from James who has been a mighty warrior
in the work of embracing returning prisoners and
sharing the True Freedom we have in Christ!)
Rejoicing in the love of Christ within family
relationships. Praying that the grace and mercy of
Christ be embraced in our lives, in our
communities, and around the world - regardless of
the personal cost.
Thanks for remembering us in prayer as we
prepare for the mission field in southeast Asia with

May Christ be honored in all things, and may He
find us faithful.
Gratefully yours and His,
"But whatever were gains to me I now consider
loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I
consider everything a loss because of the
surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my
Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I
consider them garbage, that I may gain
Christ and be found in him, not having a
righteousness of my own that comes from the
law, but that which is through faith in Christ—
the righteousness that comes from God on the
basis of faith." - Phil 3:7-9

The Convergence Resource Center is a faith-based,
community service organization, established in 2004.
The mission of CRC is to provide services to women
who have been formerly incarcerated by administering
resources with the goal of deterring re-incarceration. As
part of our Customized Resource Services each woman
is assigned an ART (Avoid Recidivism Track) Facilitator.
We believe that each woman is a Work Of ART whom
we encourage to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally
and spiritually. Each work of ART and her ART facilitator
(AF) identify the areas in her life that put her at risk.
Alongside our Empowerment and Service Partners we
aide her in re-integration. Our mission is guided by the
belief that many of the challenges facing our community
can best be corrected when those who live in the central
city and urban communities assume greater personal
responsibility for their quality of life. Services are free.

Citizens United for Rehabilitation of Errants (CURE) is a
grassroots organization that was founded in Texas in
1972. It became a national organization in 1985.
We believe that prisons should be used only for those
who absolutely must be incarcerated and that those who
are incarcerated should have all of the resources they
need to turn their lives around. We also believe that
human rights documents provide a sound basis for
ensuring that criminal justice systems meet these goals.

  • 1. NE WI PAN MEMBERS Welcome Chaplain Sumit Sen New Chaplain of Brown County Jail Sumit shared a brief biography. Born in India, he attended college in Sioux City, IA. Following graduation, he pastured small churches in Iowa as well as an Indian mission in New Mexico before coming to Brown County where is currently pastor of Bay Evangelical Covenant Church (BECC). He considers himself to be a servant of Christ, reconciling people to Christ and community through the transformation of lives. Sumit shared that from his experience those who leave jail generally don’t have a support network and many have lost families who no longer wish to support or encourage them because of past behaviors. To achieve some level of success, Chaplain Sen encourages continued development of ongoing programs (anger management, AODA, parenting courses, etc). He considers himself best suited for one-on-one ministry and hopes for an increased level of involvement by volunteers willing to do group activities—especially activities not currently offered. The Sunday afternoon chapel services include men (12:45), women (1:45), and Gulf (3:00). Because the current worship team is comprised primarily of members of BECC, anyone interested and willing to provide this service would be most welcome. Contact Chaplain Sen for particulars. 920-391-6827 bc_jail_chaplain@co.brown.wi.us Green Bay Mentor Training Training will be held: Saturday Christ Alone Church November 16, 2013 505 E. • 2. James and Sarah Langteau and the Langteau boys Joseph, Noah, Isaiah, Elijah, Caleb, and Nehemiah (A note from James who has been a mighty warrior in the work of embracing returning prisoners and sharing the True Freedom we have in Christ!) Rejoicing in the love of Christ within family relationships. Praying that the grace and mercy of Christ be embraced in our lives, in our communities, and around the world - regardless of the personal cost. Thanks for remembering us in prayer as we prepare for the mission field in southeast Asia with Wycliffe Associates. May Christ be honored in all things, and may He find us faithful. Gratefully yours and His, "But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith." - Phil 3:7-9 Chaplain Gail Barwis of TCI has gone home to Glory after battling ill health. May the impact of her positive example for Jesus have a ripple-effect on others! PASTOR & CHRISTIAN WORKER’S APPRECIATION BREAKFAST On Monday Oct. 7th the Annual Appreciation Breakfast, sponsored by the Christian Courier Newspaper and ProBuColls Association, was held at the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, WI. Special Speaker for the event was Ken Barun, former vice president of McDonalds and currently chief of Staff of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Ken presented MY HOPE FOR AMERICA, a nationwide outreach to be held starting in November. This will be the largest Crusade in America without using an arena or stadium. Ken Barun addressing the attendees Some of the many people who attended In addition, Michael Garrett of the NET Bible Organization shared a power point on how the NET Bible (recommended by Wayne Grudem, John Walvoord, Chuck Swindoll, and Tony Evans) was developed and all those who attended were given a free copy of the bible for their personal use. (Check it out – it’s an excellent study tool!)
