Massapequa, NY - 2010, 2011
As a member of the Plainedge Alumni Association we created the first Plainedge Alumni Association
Memorial Scholarship which was rewarded to a deserving graduating senior to aid in their college edu-
cation. The Scholarship is given in memory of Plainedge Alumni who have passed away. We are hop-
ing to make this an annual award. Funds were raised through donations from family members and
friends of our deceased Alumni.
Massapequa, NY - 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
As a member of the Plainedge Alumni Association we worked in conjunction with Sal’s Place in
Massapequa to organize a Holiday Toy Drive Event on November which collects toys and cash dona-
tions for the John Theissen Children’s Foundation. Our 2009 event raised $5000 in cash donations.
Massapequa, NY - 2005
Initiated and coordinated with Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto's office, the dedication
and street renaming of Ontario Avenue, Massapequa in honor of Michael S. Costello, who was killed
in the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. Dedication ceremony took place on
September 9, 2005.

Dedicated a few hours a week to aid the Plainedge Parents Athletic Association raise funds of
$548,000 to reinstate the Varsity and Junior Varsity Sports Programs back into the Plainedge School
District Budget. Goal was fully accomplished.

Member of the Plainedge High School Class of 1971 Reunion Committee - organized the 30 Year
Class Reunion which took place September 21, 2001. Organized the 40th Reunion which was held in
September 23, 2011.

Community Activities Massapequa, NY - 2010, 2011 As a member of the Plainedge Alumni Association we created the first Plainedge Alumni Association Memorial Scholarship which was rewarded to a deserving graduating senior to aid in their college edu- cation. The Scholarship is given in memory of Plainedge Alumni who have passed away. We are hop- ing to make this an annual award. Funds were raised through donations from family members and friends of our deceased Alumni.
