“COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT FOR IMMIGRANT NGOS” FINAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD ON THE
23RD
OF MAY IN UPPSALA, SWEDEN
"Competence development for immigrant NGOs" final conference was held on the 23rd
of May in
Uppsala, Sweden. The conference was intended to present the project’s results and honor project’s
completion.
The conference started with an opening from Ingmar Paulsson, the
head of regional unit of Swedish ESF Council in Stockholm, followed
by speech from the project coordinator, Yevgeniya Averhed, and 4
other key speaker presentations. In the second part of the day there
were panel debates on immigrant associations, integration and
public education, moderated by journalist and author, Kristina
Hultman.
“So many words to say about past two years that project lasted… A lot has been done. Thanks to all
the partners, stakeholders and participants. All we’ve achieved was owing to your hard work and
commitment. This project felt really important, I was truly driven to coordinate it. ”, - says Yevgeniya
Averhed, the project manager of IGMA and deputy director of the Department for International
Cooperation of Folkuniversitetet.
"Competence development for immigrant NGOs" ("Kompetensuppbyggnad för invandrarföreningar")
is ESF project, launched on the 1st
of July 2012. The overall project objective is to promote social,
cultural and labour market integration of third country nationals through training and capacity-
building of immigrant non-profit organizations.
