CULTURAL ROUTE PLANNING TRAINING WAS HELD BY FOLKUNIVERSITETET IN OCTOBER
2018 IN UPPSALA, SWEDEN
The training was run on 19.10.2018 in Folkuniversitetet, Uppsala. The goal was to strengthen
competences of adults working in the fields of culture and tourism, as well as to elaborate
new cultural tourism route based on cultural footprints. Throughout the duration of the
project the partnership conducted research on cultural footprints and national cultural
tourism situation, as well as developed methodology for creating cultural routes. All of these
results were used to support the training.
It was a full-day dissemination training in a form of a lecture, followed by a practical workshop
on creating a new cultural route. 7 representatives of local tourist sector participated in the
training.
“Such training blending cultural interaction and tourism was new to us, but we think we’ve
succeeded in its delivering and got important feedback for the project”- says Ali Rashidi, the
director of Department for International Cooperation of Folkuniversitetet.
„Informal Adults’ Education for Cultural Tourism Promotion between the Baltic and Nordic
Countries“ is a Nordplus Adult project, the duration of which is 2 years. The aim of the project
is to strengthen the competences of specialist working in the field of culture and tourism
through informal and non-formal adults’ education on creating cultural footprints routes.
