concerning Chevron’s OE and MCP processes.
2008 to 2013 Chevron Pipeline Company.
Control Systems Specialist. Responsible for the configuration and programming of remote pump stations,
meter skids, flow computers, PLCs,and HMI throughout the Chevron Pipeline system for crude, natural
gas, LPG, and finished petroleum products pipelines. Interface and support the pipeline Central Control
Center,project managers, and field and SCADA personnel. Participate in MOC, CPDEP,PSSR,and
PHS.
1997 to 2008 Chevron Oronite
Process Automation Group. Maintain and support Honeywell, ABB DCS systems and PLC systems for
batch and continuous manufacturing. Provide plant wide automation and I&E support for maintenance,
operations and project engineers. Projects included a Saab radar tank measurement project that monitored
over 180 tanks, the largest Saab Radar installation in the world. The addition of three new additive units
to the plant; 5 year Process Automation project, PLC to Honeywell. Support DCS hardware and software
upgrades. Additional projects include, increased the component blend stream system from 60 to 90
automated blend streams, and installed a 12 rail car automated loading system. I was the only person in
the automations group that supported two different DCS systems. . Participate in MOC, CPDEP,PSSR,
and PHS for the units I was assigned to. I managed over 400 projects from $5M to over $900M while
assigned to Oronite.
2. 1992 to 1997 Chevron Refinery, El Paso TX.
I&E maintenance, repaired and calibrated various instruments, control systems, and related equipment.
Assisted in the implementation of the Maintenance I&E Reliability Program and the Honeywell upgrade
project. I&E project supervisor on a $20MM crude unit turnaround/upgrade and severalyearly refinery
turnarounds. Additional duties include relief maintenance supervisor. Member of the refinery fire
department support brigade and fought severalminor and two major refinery fires.
1990 to 1992 Sunbelt Refining, Arizona
Operations and maintenance (instrument/control engineer). Support, configuration, and maintenance for
Honeywell Multi-Functional Controller and plant instrumentation. Operator in the crude/vacuum unit.
Attended Dobbs Beal petroleum firefighting training in Reno Nevada.
1986 to 1990
All-American Pipeline Company, Phoenix, AZ. Construction and start-up of a thirty inch crude oil
pipeline in the California, Arizona and New Mexico divisions. Commissioned fifteen 4000 HP solar
turbines and related control systems. Responsible for turbine, instrument and SCADA systems after
system start up.
1981 to 1986
Mid America Pipeline Company (MAPCO). Duties include Maintenance, operations, construction,
commissioning/start up, project supervisor. Commissioned 6 pump stations on the Seminole Pipeline
system that consisted of 3, 1500 HP solar turbines and related control/SCADA systems. Electrical project
supervisor at severallocations through the pipeline system including the $25MM Moss Bluff NaturalGas
Salt Dome storage facility and severalother pump stations and a propane loading terminal, which I
became the terminal manager.
