THE NEW PRIORITY
INVESTING IN THE STOCK MARKET
LIC’s IPO was the most
talked about. Among new-
age startups, the IPOs
of Paytm and Zomato
also created a lot of buzz.
Perhaps this was the main
reason that even when there
was a period of economic
recession during the Corona
epidemic, the Indian capital
market continued to grow
because a large number of
new investors joined the
Indian capital market
during that period
f we analyze the economic sav-
ings data of the Indian econo-
my, we can conclude that the
period between 2004 and 2010
was a prosperous era. This is
evident from the consistent
year-on-year increase in the
percentage of economic sav-
ings and GDP during this time
frame. Hence, it can be regard-
ed as a golden time for the In-
dian economy
.
In the year 2010, the econom-
ic savings was at 36.9 percent,
which was the highest level till
date, because during that time
the growth rate of the Indian
economy also increased rapidly
every year. Since the year 2011,
there has been a decrease in the
figures of economic savings
and the factors are the decrease
in the rate of economic growth,
rise in the inflation level and
the feeling of disappointment
with the political leadership in
the first few years. Meanwhile,
the COVID-19 pandemic
emerged as a worldwide crisis,
bringing with it unexpected
physical and economic chal-
lenges for the entire society.
During the year 2020-21, the
starting year of Corona, the
economic savings in the Indian
economy was 28 percent of GDP
because a large number of peo-
ple lost their jobs during the
lockdown, yet the positive trend
is evident from the fact that the
year 2021-22, Economic savings
remained above 30 percent of
GDP. That is, the behavior of
financial savings is continu-
ously intact among Indians.
It is worthwhile to mention
herethatoverthepastfewyears,
the banking sector has lost its
position as the primary point of
focus. Instead, there has been a
steady rise in the domestic sav-
ings of Indians, drawing atten-
tion away from the banking in-
dustry
. Therefore, it is self-evi-
dent that many other sources of
economic investment are be-
coming the priorities of the peo-
ple. For example, the prevalence
of insurance increased very
rapidly during the Corona epi-
demic. It is also necessary to
clarify here that life insurance
in India has always been a main
source of financial investment
along with banks. Every Indian
receives the treatment of finan-
cial investment in life insurance
asafamilyapproach.Duringthe
Corona epidemic, since physical
crises were very sudden and un-
certain, the practice of medical
insurance suddenly increased
rapidly in the society, but this
practice could not take a perma-
nent position as it saw a rapid
decrease in the next financial
year. This is a matter of great
concern for the insurance busi-
ness as to why insurance pene-
tration is still very low in India
today? During the year of Co-
rona Pandemic, it suddenly in-
creased from 3.8 percent to 4.2
percent. It should be known
that the global average figure of
insurance is 7 percent and in
many developed countries in-
cluding America, Britain etc. it
is above 10 percent. Insurance
companies must think in this
regard whether the cost of pre-
mium in Indian society is high
or not?
In recent times, there has
been a noticeable surge in the
flow of economic savings of In-
dians towards the Indian capital
market. This trend has been re-
ceiving significant attention
and recognition. According to
statistics, in the year 2021-22,
one million new investors were
associated with the Indian capi-
tal market, who made financial
investments through SIP (Sys-
tematic Investment Plan) in mu-
tual funds. Out of this more
than 4 percent of domestic sav-
ings has been seen towards the
Indian capital market during
one year itself. Both direct in-
vestment in equity and mutual
funds have emerged as a major
option. It would also be appro-
priate to mention here that in
the last financial year, the op-
tion of investing in a large num-
ber of IPOs was also available
for investment in the capital
market, through which compa-
nies raised a large amount of
capital from the Indian society
.
LIC’s IPO was the most talked
about.Amongnew-agestartups,
the IPOs of Paytm and Zomato
also created a lot of buzz. Per-
haps this was the main reason
that even when there was a pe-
riod of economic recession dur-
ing the Corona epidemic, the
Indian capital market contin-
ued to grow because a large
number of new investors joined
the Indian capital market dur-
ing that period. However, dur-
ing that point of time the first
priority of global investors was
India rather than China. It has
also been seen that the tendency
of Indians to invest in pension
and provident fund has also in-
creased a lot. However, the with-
drawal of the old pension
scheme is a political issue, due
to which there may be a change
in the attitude of the investors
under the new pension scheme
in the upcoming time.

The bilateral ties be-

and China have held
several rounds of mili-
tary and diplomatic
talks for disengagement
along the Line of Actu-
al Control (LAC) in east-
ern Ladakh following
the standoff in May
2020. Pakistan Foreign

to Zardari has also ar-
rived in Goa for the SCO
summit.
Also, during their in-
teraction, Jaishankar
shared a light moment
when he was heard ask-
ing whether Lavrov had
an opportunity to get
some rest and a suntan,
to which the Russian
minister responded
that he had had about
an hour and a half to do
so. Lavrov is also heard
telling Jaishankar not
to tell anybody about it.
The Russian Foreign
Minister arrived at
Goa’s Dabolim airport
this morning. Inciden-
tally, this is the second
time this year that Lav-
rov is visiting India.
Previously, he had at-
tended the G20 Foreign
Ministers’ meeting in

Jhalawar: Former CM
Vasundhara Raje dur-
ing her tour of Jhala-
war district on Thurs-
day
, said that the Gehlot
government is neglect-
ing Jhalawar, but it is a
matter of 6 months.
“Now again the time
will come like 2003 to
2008 and 2013 to 2018
and the whole state in-
cluding Jhalawar will
develop like the BJP
government of that
time. Today there is nei-
ther enough electricity
nor enough water. Peo-
ple do not even have em-
ployment. The paper
leak has put youth’s fu-
ture in darkness and
this government is
sleeping with its eyes
closed,” she said
She was welcomed at
various places. “If my
government had got
five more years, then
the entire state includ-
ing Jhalawar would
have been fully devel-
oped, but the people of
the state deprived us of
theserviceof Rajasthan
by only half percent of
the votes. However,
Congress did not even
get full majority
. But by
doing manipulations
and transactions, they
formed the govern-
ment. The government
was formed but it did
not care about the pub-
lic. Law order, and all
the basic facilities dis-
appeared,” Raje said.
“According to the
promises of Rahul Gan-
dhi, neither farmers’
loans were waived, nor
agro-processing units
were set up near their
farms, nor did the youth
get employment. The
entire state fell prey to
corruption, atrocities,
misconduct, terrorism
and communal frenzy,”
the former CM said.

JAIPUR, FRIDAY,
MAY 5, 2023
Kanggana Malik, one of the finalists of the
esteemed Miss Teen Diva, has
unquestionably become a highly coveted
figure in the modelling industry. City First
brings to you the enchanting journey of
this beauty queen!
WARRIOR OF
THE LIGHT
o be heroic is to be cou-
rageous enough to die
for something; to be in-
spirational is to be crazy
enough to live a little.
One such beauty who
has been making waves
with her journey is the exquisite
Kanggana Malik.
When asked about her inspira-
tion for entering the beauty pag-
eant industry
, the beauty ex-
plained, “My biggest inspiration
has always been my parents.
Their unrelenting encourage-
ment and unwavering stimulus
to persist through the most ardu-
ous of times have been the bed-
rock that propelled me towards
entering the industry a mere two
years ago. In a fleeting span of
time, I have garnered an abun-
dance of knowledge regarding
the intricacies of this craft. I
have come to realize that as
much as the industry may exude
a veneer of grandeur, the path to
triumph is paved with unflag-
ging ardour and a prodigious
work ethic.”
As we delved deeper into the
qualities necessary for a suc-
cessful beauty pageant contest-
ant, the gorgeous diva empha-
sized the importance of being
“self-confidence” and “unstop-
pable.” She shared, “As a
crowned beauty queen, the par-
amount attribute that one must
possess is an unshakable belief
in oneself, as well as one’s con-
victions and principles. This
quality serves as the corner-
stone to triumph in any sphere
of life, notwithstanding the
myriad of obstacles that one
may encounter along the way
to fulfilling their aspira-
tions in the realm of pag-
eantry
.”
Maintaining a healthy
mindset and self-esteem
is crucial for any pag-
eant contestant, and the
ravishing diva shared
that she balances the
physical demands of
pageant prepara-
tion, such as diet
and exercise, with
a positive mind-
set. She believes
that Miss Teen
Diva, as an or-
g a n i s a t i o n
helped her be-
come a better
person. She em-
phasized, “It has
taught me im-
portant skills
and values of
not giving up
even if you
don’t win. I
would con-
tinue to im-
bibe that spir-
it and work on
my advocacy of
ending child sexual
abuse in India through
supporting and working
with Parwarish Cares Foun-
dation, an NGO that prevents
children from becoming vic-
tims of child sexual abuse.” The
diva expressed her heartfelt
gratitude to Nikhil Anand and
Jagdeesh Chandra for support-
ing her in her journey
.
When asked about her goals in
the industry and how she plans
to use her platform to make a
positive impact on society
, the
gorgeous lady shared, “Beauty
pageants serve as a platform for
individuals to present them-
selves in the most captivating
manner possible. The judges are
not seeking to crown a perfect
specimen, but rather, one who
possesses an unwavering sense
of purpose, coupled with a
healthy dose of self-assurance in
their physique and appearance.
As a student pursuing fashion
communication, I aspire to emu-
late this very same spirit in the
realm of fashion.’”
Criticism is an inescapable
part of life, and Malik shared
that she handles it with resil-
ience and confidence. She said,
“The best way to take criticism
is to think of it as someone try-
ing to make you a better person.
A positive attitude towards your-
self will help you overcome the
negative thoughts in people’s
comments. This positive attitude
and mindset towards life will
help you achieve greater success
in life. One mere failure cannot
dictate your life forever.”
With her warrior spirit and
dedication, Kanggana is a force
to be reckoned with in the beau-
ty pageant industry
.

Among new- age startups, the IPOs of Paytm and Zomato also created a lot of buzz. Perhaps this was the main reason that even when there was a period of economic recession during the Corona epidemic, the Indian capital market continued to grow because a large number of new investors joined the Indian capital market during that period f we analyze the economic sav- ings data of the Indian econo- my, we can conclude that the period between 2004 and 2010 was a prosperous era. This is evident from the consistent year-on-year increase in the percentage of economic sav- ings and GDP during this time frame. Hence, it can be regard- ed as a golden time for the In- dian economy . In the year 2010, the econom- ic savings was at 36.9 percent, which was the highest level till date, because during that time the growth rate of the Indian economy also increased rapidly every year. Since the year 2011, there has been a decrease in the figures of economic savings and the factors are the decrease in the rate of economic growth, rise in the inflation level and the feeling of disappointment with the political leadership in the first few years. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 pandemic emerged as a worldwide crisis, bringing with it unexpected physical and economic chal- lenges for the entire society. During the year 2020-21, the starting year of Corona, the economic savings in the Indian economy was 28 percent of GDP because a large number of peo- ple lost their jobs during the lockdown, yet the positive trend is evident from the fact that the year 2021-22, Economic savings remained above 30 percent of GDP. That is, the behavior of financial savings is continu- ously intact among Indians. It is worthwhile to mention herethatoverthepastfewyears, the banking sector has lost its position as the primary point of focus. Instead, there has been a steady rise in the domestic sav- ings of Indians, drawing atten- tion away from the banking in- dustry . Therefore, it is self-evi- dent that many other sources of economic investment are be- coming the priorities of the peo- ple. For example, the prevalence of insurance increased very rapidly during the Corona epi- demic. It is also necessary to clarify here that life insurance in India has always been a main source of financial investment along with banks. Every Indian receives the treatment of finan- cial investment in life insurance asafamilyapproach.Duringthe Corona epidemic, since physical crises were very sudden and un- certain, the practice of medical insurance suddenly increased rapidly in the society, but this practice could not take a perma- nent position as it saw a rapid decrease in the next financial year. This is a matter of great concern for the insurance busi- ness as to why insurance pene- tration is still very low in India today? During the year of Co- rona Pandemic, it suddenly in- creased from 3.8 percent to 4.2 percent. It should be known that the global average figure of insurance is 7 percent and in many developed countries in- cluding America, Britain etc. it is above 10 percent. Insurance companies must think in this regard whether the cost of pre- mium in Indian society is high or not? In recent times, there has been a noticeable surge in the flow of economic savings of In- dians towards the Indian capital market. This trend has been re- ceiving significant attention and recognition. According to statistics, in the year 2021-22, one million new investors were associated with the Indian capi- tal market, who made financial investments through SIP (Sys- tematic Investment Plan) in mu- tual funds. Out of this more than 4 percent of domestic sav- ings has been seen towards the Indian capital market during one year itself. Both direct in- vestment in equity and mutual funds have emerged as a major option. It would also be appro- priate to mention here that in the last financial year, the op- tion of investing in a large num- ber of IPOs was also available for investment in the capital market, through which compa- nies raised a large amount of capital from the Indian society . LIC’s IPO was the most talked about.Amongnew-agestartups, the IPOs of Paytm and Zomato also created a lot of buzz. Per- haps this was the main reason that even when there was a pe- riod of economic recession dur- ing the Corona epidemic, the Indian capital market contin- ued to grow because a large number of new investors joined the Indian capital market dur- ing that period. However, dur- ing that point of time the first priority of global investors was India rather than China. It has also been seen that the tendency of Indians to invest in pension and provident fund has also in- creased a lot. However, the with- drawal of the old pension scheme is a political issue, due to which there may be a change in the attitude of the investors under the new pension scheme in the upcoming time. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL I DR PS VOHRA The author is Writer, Columnist & Financial Expert ACCORDING TO STATISTICS, IN THE YEAR 2021-22, ONE MILLION NEW INVESTORS WERE ASSOCIATED WITH THE INDIAN CAPITAL MARKET, WHO MADE FINANCIAL INVESTMENTS THROUGH SIP (SYSTEMATIC INVESTMENT PLAN) IN MUTUAL FUNDS THE MARKET SCENE IN RECENT YEARS l In the year 2010, the eco- nomic savings was at 36.9%, which was the highest level till date, because during that time growth rate of the Indian economy also increased rapidly every year l Since the year 2011, there has been a decrease in the figures of economic savings and the factors are the decrease in the rate of economic growth l In 2020-21, the starting year of Corona, economic savings in the Indian economy was 28% of GDP because a large number of people lost their jobs, yet the positive trend is evident from the fact that the year 2021-22, Economic savings remained above 30% of GDP

Their unrelenting encourage- ment and unwavering stimulus to persist through the most ardu- ous of times have been the bed- rock that propelled me towards entering the industry a mere two years ago. In a fleeting span of time, I have garnered an abun- dance of knowledge regarding the intricacies of this craft. I have come to realize that as much as the industry may exude a veneer of grandeur, the path to triumph is paved with unflag- ging ardour and a prodigious work ethic.” As we delved deeper into the qualities necessary for a suc- cessful beauty pageant contest- ant, the gorgeous diva empha- sized the importance of being “self-confidence” and “unstop- pable.” She shared, “As a crowned beauty queen, the par- amount attribute that one must possess is an unshakable belief in oneself, as well as one’s con- victions and principles.
