1. Pitch Script
Good morning
For my Final Major Project, I decided to produce a fashion magazine. My reasons for this are that I
want to express my skills using photo editing and Photoshop production.
The magazine itself will include a front cover, a contents page and a double page spread which
includes a 1000 word question and answer article. To help me distribute work evenly for myself the
most important thing for me to do first is produce production schedules and logs to help me keep
track along the way.
My chosen theme for my magazine is Fashion. I enjoy fashion as a young girl and I know that I’ll be
able to produce a good piece of work. Research is so important before any production. My research
will involve questionnaires to find out who my demographic will be, and magazine research
exploring all the aspects of a front cover and contents page.
Once I have established my audience i can then proceed with the 1000 word article and piecing
together layout plans. This will give me ideas on where I’ll be placing things on my pages, and I can
improvise along the way too.
I’ll be displaying a range of skills throughout the project such as time management, technical editing
such as Photoshop and using a Nikon for my magazine portrait shoot. The portrait shoot is a very
important part of production as the images I use will be placed on each page of my magazine once
edited. It’ll be good for me to gather quite a few so I have more choice and options.
After the production of images and planning, it’ll then be time for me to start putting things together
in Photoshop. This is the main part that I’ll be looking forward to doing as I’ve never made a
magazine before and I hope I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.
