The document discusses ancillary tasks for advertising a new newspaper. It outlines three options: a billboard poster, radio advertisement, or two hyperlinked website pages. The author chose a billboard poster and radio advertisement. A billboard is a large outdoor structure that can convey a message to passing drivers and masses, which may bring in business and attract readers to switch to the new newspaper. A radio advertisement allows commercial stations to make revenue by selling airtime to advertisers, accounting for 6.9% of total media expenditures.
2. The Three Options for the Ancillary Task
Are…..
1. A Billboard Poster for the newspaper.
2. A Radio Advertisement for the newspaper.
3. Two hyperlinked pages for the paper’s website
3. The Two Tasks that I have chosen are:
1. A Billboard Poster for the newspaper.
2. A Radio Advertisement for the newspaper.
5. Billboard
A billboard a large outdoor advertising structure. They often are
found in high traffic areas such as a motorway or highly
populated cities or towns. Billboards are in place to present large
advertisements to passing drivers.
I have chosen this because it is a structure that will convey its
msg to masses and if designed wisely it might bring in great
business for the new newspaper. It might also built an attraction
point for the readers that will compel the readers to switch to
the new newspaper.

7. Radio Ad
Commercial radio stations make most of their revenue selling "airtime"
to advertisers. Of total media expenditures, radio accounts for
6.9%. Radio advertisements or "spots" are available when a business or
service provides valuable consideration, usually cash, in exchange for
the station airing their spot or mentioning them on air. The United
States Federal Communications Commission(FCC), established under
the Communications Act of 1934, regulates commercial broadcasting,
and the laws regarding radio advertisements remain relatively
unchanged from the original Radio Act of 1927, enacted to deal with
increasing problems of signal interference as more and more stations
sprung up around the country.
